Now they are going the other way — trying to work with characters no one gives 2 farks for. They think will work by not offending canon.

I really liked Rogue One. I don’t have big expectations for Star Wars movies. If they have a little romance and some “save the world” stuff and a few moments of humor, and some swashbuckling sabers or something, I’m good.
I am in the Force and the Force is in me.
