Conspiracy theory stuff and I am NOT following this person. This person evidently followed me and now I have to go "mute" him/her.

I haven't been on gab in months and I now have 72 notifications, most all of which are "so and so followed you". That means I see whatever they post on my feed. If I don't want to see it, I have to "mute" all 72 of them. It seems very backwards to me. Sometimes I'd get on gab and have some real nasty stuff on my feed because some unknown jackass decided to follow me. New people just click "follow" on any name they see to build up followers. It's a major pita and makes the system high maintenance for the user.

Why would someone want to be on a social network where every time you sign in, you have to spend 5-10 minutes "muting" people? The above zuckerberg/rothschild conspiracy stuff is mild compared to some of the crap. (Stupid F*&^%ing N!&&ers) is something I've run across quite a bit but spelled out fully. Imagine being at work and having that pop up on your screen. Same with the "Jews are running the work, Goyim wants to enslave us all" type of thing. Oh yeah, and the world is flat btw.

So now I either spend half an hour "muting" up to 72 people/kids or just sign off and forget about gab

This is systematic oppression by Big Tech.

First conservatives are told go build your own.

Then Google systematically oppresses their site in search results, preventing ads. Facebook and other Big Tech sites censor the group’s social media profiles and sharing of content from that site.

Now Gab.ai is held liable for content posted on its site and driven away. Yet Facebook isn’t held liable for liberal bullies sending death threats. It doesn’t consider Jew hatred a problem, while censoring ex-Muslims and pro-Israel content. Twitter’s “trust and safety council” had no problem with death threats against conservatives, ex-Muslims, ex-gays, Jews, whites, and men. And no one is shutting down Twitter for the hate speech they permit.

Big Tech is so big that their corporate decisions violate the civil rights of whole groups.

There are several solutions. One is saying they can’t censor groups they don’t like. We can’t trust them in this regard, because they’ve set up multiple “hurdles” like downranking, demonetiziation, etc.

The other solution is breaking them up and forcing them to tolerate the competition like Gab.AI. We could sue Twitter and Google’s collusion to censor gab.AI, since Google has a special data mining relationship with Twitter. We can assume that Google throttled Gab.ai simply to protect its business relationship with Twitter.

Liberals used to say they were afraid of big business because they’d oppress people. Common horror stories include systematically denying people food and air, starting pandemics while holding the cure. But when Big Businesses are shown to have systematically oppressed groups liberals are prejudiced against, they have no problem with it. So oppression by liberals is considered OK as long as they’re the ones doing the oppression.

Its a shame that places like this can get infested by white nationalist types. I have joined there, but some of the content is a real turn off, makes “normal” conservatives look bad.
