We’ve had Internet only for the past few years, with Roku. At the same time, we got rid of home phone service and went with Ooma. Not counting the cost for the equipment, it initially saved us over $200 per month; and while we started with an introductory rate that did go up after two years, it doesn’t appear that Verizon is charging us extra because of the way we’re doing things.
We don’t have sports or pay movie channels, but that works for us. I think we spend a little over $100/month for everything now.
Thanks for the info — I’m looking at getting Roku, I just hope I have enough bandwidth to allow continutous streaming.
