I’m partial to the new Mexican food I guess, having grown up with it in El Paso. The best food came from the less pretentious restaurants, with real Mexican Cooks. Of course these days that’s all you can find. But you are right, California tries to dress things up. Again, the best food came from the least pretentious places. The taco trucks in San Diego had great carne asada burritos.

I watched C-Span for quite a while after the second rally. I listened to the call ins for 15 callers (with a bit of O'Bama rerun and another interview in between). I have not listened to these call ins as they usually have a Dem who loves Dems,then a Republican who says ....but this time I agree with Dem...., then an "other" who also agrees with the Dem. It is usually about 5Dto 1R.

Today, NOT SO. Of 15 callers (all voters), 5 on each line, 13 voted (or will vote tomorrow) Republican. Many had very good reasons, some directly from Trump's rally points. The only person who voted Dem said that no Republicans voted for the Affordable Care Act (true) and they won't protect pre-existing conditions (false). The other person who did not say she voted for Republicans did not say who she voted for. I am stunned. The callers were from all over the country.

One of the callers to C-Span who said he was voting for Republicans may have been part of the audience to whom Trump addressed “What the hell do you have to lose”. The caller left out the hell part. He, or another caller, said that everyone in his family had jobs now. Voting R for the first time.

It’s hard for people to ignore the improvements in their own lives. And hard for the Democrats to say this grade economy is a bad thing. The Dow was up another hundred and ninety points today, just in time for the election.
