Legendarily awful piece of minced gristle. Blah.
I am a Texan and do not refer to grilling as barbecue. I think of barbecue as "low and slow" with lots of smoke. I do not have time for that. What I am is a griller. I grill a steak most weekends, and I will occasionally grill smoked sausage. I use the classic Weber charcoal grill. Sometimes I add mesquite or hickory chips for smoke. I use a charcoal chimney to start my coals and do not use charcoal fluid.
You need to get out of the swamp more, there are multiple styles of Carolina barbecue and none of them are doused in vinegar, unless you just like Eastern NC style and slather it on yourself, the sauce is on the table in a bottle. Have you ever actually had any, or are you just stirring up $#+ based on what you’ve read on the internet lol?
Equally amusing are the white knights galloping in to save their beloved McDamsel in distress. It's OK to love junk food, even McDonald's, lol. I used to love their fries, something happened though, I think it was canola oil instead of beef tallow. Their burgers seem to have improved over the past year, actually more like ground beef for some reason, so there's that. Things are looking up!
It’s all good sport, I’ve eaten at any number of legendary Texas barbecue joints, The Salt Lick, several in Lockhart, loved it. But it’s not really barbecue by NC standards. Guess I’m something of a barbecue agnostic, assuming that it’s been prepared by someone who has the least clue what they’re doing and it’s pit cooked over wood coals, it’s hard to ruin it.
You can get onto Medicare three months early prior to yr 65th birthday. Do some research. Dittos for SS.
If you are so healthy there are many plans that refund most of your medicare deduction from SS which as of now is $134 monthly on so called zero premium plans.
RIGHT NOW I am looking at a Medicare plan where I get $110 back so I am out only $24 a month. IOW far cheaper than a zero premium plan.
I like the McRib, too.
Hold the pickles, extra onions.
Six months too early for Ramadan.
THIS.
The McRib is for Yankees who boil their ribs before cooking and then call it barbecue.
I have visited kin in Kannapolis/Concord also in Columbia SC on many ocasions. Only decent bbq I ever had up there was Maurice’s bbq in SC. But if you say you have something edible up there I’ll take your word for it.
As far as stirrin’ it up...well, you know. :)
It’s OK to love junk food, even McDonald’s, lol.
You bet. McD’s is one of my favorite “cheats”. I once tried to make my own big mac with store-bought ingredients and what was considered to be the most “accurate” special sauce recipe. $15 and an hour later I was sorely disappointed.
Now I just cough up the $4 and enjoy the original.
At this point, getting health care insurance would demonstrate a lack of faith.
BTW, I turn 65 in 3 months.
Oh, I think you are correct about how most people overuse the term barbecue. And it certainly is different around the country. I saw on Cheap Eats on the Food Channel that they dip chickens in some sort of mayonnaise-based BBQ sauce in Alabama. Did not look appetizing.
The best BBQ I have ever had was in Garland, TX, and it was so good I will willingly enter the town limits of Garland, TX.
And that is saying a lot. It may be the sole redeeming quality of Garland, TX.
it is the very rare occasion I visit a McD's anymore, they completely destroyed what Ray built. They started with the fries, cowtowing :) to the Hindus that threatened to sue over the beef tallow. Then the rest of the food, now held in warming bins and assembled as ordered which has completely changed the flavor for the worse as well as resulting in only warm food. And the coup de grâce? The service! It is a very rare McD's that you find the service Ray built an empire on.
But one of the things that bring me back, other than my grandson, is the McRib and that just once a season.
Looks gross at first and sounds disgusting but Alabama white barbecue actually isn’t bad. On the sweet side as you might imagine but oddly enough it works.
So, just to be clear, you NOT a big fan of Garland, TX. Did I get that right? lol
