My local high end family owned grocer closed down the express lane (side) < 12 items which is part of the customer service area (combined @ a 90 degree angle to one another ), as they also had the portable rope off system and signs about forming a line etc to deal with the volume. 2 customers before me last night around 6:30ish. It was probably bedlam the last couple of days for this store to do this, the quick check out lane is quite popular at this store.

Stuck In The Middle With You

“Well you started out with nothing,
And you’re proud that you’re a self made man,
And your friends, they all come crawlin,
Slap you on the back and say,
Please, please.”
Heh! I had a feeling it was going to be bad, so I bought mine Saturday after work.
Second biggest.
not from the demographics of what I see lined up at lottery counters
I've been wondering the same. It should have been higher.much.
Maybe their computers or whatever they use wasn't up to date to use such big numbers? someone pocketed the dif?
Oh, and perhaps that I did not buy a ticket has something to do with it.
But if God did want me to have it, I would have found the winning ticket on the sidewalk. His plan will not be thwarted.
I hope it’s a 20 or 30 something, that goes to church, votes, has a family and a working class job.
Were it me, I would have endless hours of fun finding creative ways to give away huge chunks of it to deserving people....the cop who was shot in the line of duty who cannot afford the hospital bills...the single mother with 3 kids and is unemployed even though she has been trying hard to find work...the 10 year old burn victim who needs expensive reconstructive surgery...the family who lost their home to a fire...and so on. The news is full of such stories.
All of these gifts would come with free legal and tax advice from a team of attorneys.
Then there's the table outside the Town Hall with a sign that says, "Win $500 cash right now!" All a contestant would need to do is recite the first sentence of the Preamble of the US Constitution. Or recite the 2nd amendment. Or define Socialism/Capitalism/Fascism.

“.......use some of the money to help people hit by the hurricane rebuild their lives.”
Just as soon as they can figure out a tax break for that purpose. They’re gonna need it,

In S Carolina, you can remain anonymous.
Mega tickets cost $2 each.
The payout is $1,537,000,000.
The payout is only 1/2 of the price of the $2 ticket.
Therefore, the number of tickets is very close to 1,537,000,000.
Based on s Carolina Lottery director remarks this AM, an individual can remain anonymous in S Carolina.
Nope, dont care about that. Do care about people who have lost everything in a hurricane. That was devastating for South Carolina and a very small portion of that money could help a lot of people. You could do it secretly because a lot of those folks are fiercely proud.
I love this country, and I love the great majority of her people, and that huge sum of money would allow you to do a lot of good with meeting deductibles, making small loans and telling them to pay it forward.
Just checked my tickets and I matched two numbers but one wasn’t the mega ball so I won nothing. At least it was in my state.
Winning ticket sold in Simpsonville, SC.

It’s not me either! :0(
Ha, the jokes on him/her! After taxes, he/she will only get 900 million — meaning he/she will still have to work.
