We don't know exactly where the 10,000 person caravan from Guatemala is targeted for crossing the border, but we know they are headed North.
The Caravan is getting a lot of publicity., Maybe we should do the same? We could create a counter caravan (of pickup trucks?) to head for the presumed border crossing point, to protest the failure of the government to protect us from invasion seems like a good idea.
I think the best thing to do is to show our support for securing the border and ending illegal immigration. Be seen and heard, prove we are not Russian bots. Make it clear that we do not support people entering our country illegally.
It needs to be done in a way that does not interfere with Border Patrol, Customs, Military, or local law enforcement that will be working in the border area.
What could go wrong?
Good point.
I can't be sure you are speaking in jest or not. But what you suggest is extraordinarily DANGEROUS. And stupid. I know you're not stupid, too.
First off the Mexican military and police aren't really working for the government and they respect no laws. Except the extremely stringent gun laws of the country that keep them in power. Where our LEO's might only arrest a suspect, the cartel paid Mexican forces are more likely to make an example of you by first engaging your little party at a distance with the M2HB .50 cal machineguns WE sold or gave them decades ago. There's not much your prospective level of firepower will accomplish in that scenario. The Mexicans, especially their elite SF known as the Zetas are pretty hard corps soldiers, even if they're working for the Devil.
In any case, when they've whittled your numbers down and when you've surrendered they'd make sport of engineering your deaths in spectacular fashion and leaving them at some legitimate port of entry on our side after making as much political and diplomatic hay as possible. This isn't a viable example of CWII. It's CWSuicide.
It is maddening. But I would not suggest that protesters go into Mexico to meet the caravan there, or for any other reason. It's a corrupt shithole and you have no rights.
Last Spring many split off and headed to other Ports of Entry thinking they could cross sooner because of the long lines. They did not go just to one location, but to many ports. If I remember right the Spring group planned to go to TX and showed up at most of the ports in TX and even here and AZ before it was over.
I expect some will want to go to TX even though the plan this time is Tijuana. Others had no intention of going through any Port of Entry or being processed and headed across the desert last Spring and I am sure that will happen again too. Those are the bad hombres President Trump spoke of. Those that do that are not claiming asylum or anything else, they just want in...of course those that were caught in the desert started screaming asylum.
That would be perfect and something I would love to be a part of. I want no part of anything that could interfere with Border Patrol, military, ETC. that will be working in the border area.
That would be interesting.... rather than the military standing there, what if 100,000 US CITIZENS clogged the border crossing on this side....
I agree that having a bunch of people show up to stop these people themselves is a bad idea. However, some are talking that way. I imagine, and hope, it’s just talk, but it does show just how frustrated people are with our government’s inability to defend our borders.
Some jeeps are:
Not to worry. Yes, someone's on it. No, it's not the leaky CIA.
Remember, when the magician wants to pull off something sneaky, he gives you a distraction to capture your attention.
Another map for you. Think 5,000 people moved 500-1000 miles, in one day. Or night.
All it takes is one Tweet from the Commander-in-chief, and it's Militia On. You on the Tweet list?
Would I have to walk the 1500 plus miles to the border?
More useful: Volunteers to augment understaffed Sheriff's departments and police forces in border-area towns and counties, providing 24/7 guards for grocery stores, gas stations, schools and churches, as needed, where needed. Working under the legal authority of a local sheriff's deputy empowered to make actual arrests, a mix of about 6-8 such volunteers in a pair of pickup trucks to each deputy would seem about right: enough to perform guard, observation and LP/OP duties and assist with prisoner transfer if so ordered. Some isolated ranches and trailer camps may have similar requirements. By the way: it's a Felony crime in Texas for anyone other than the owner to cut a stock fence in Texas.
And it should keep the rock and pop-bottle-with-gasoline throwing to a minimum, just in case any of the sneakier ones- or the ones already here waiting with supplies- make it past CBP and the military forces at the border.
Don't worry, you can get a Democrat candidate to pay for your Uber ride with a taxpayer-funded credit card.
I don’t think so.
You're probably right. Last I heard, our local Democrat Party chairman was trying to bribe winos to vote using half-pints of vodka rather than the usual cheap gin. And paying off the homeless voters, but this year, instead of handing out 5-dollar-bills, it's been Rubles.
Great ideas!
I wish I had one like that.
