DES MOINES — Kamala Harris swears she’s “not bullshitting” when she says she’s squarely focused on the midterm elections.
But even before she arrived here Monday, there were signs of the California senator’s heightening preparation for a 2020 presidential run. In recent days, an adviser told POLITICO, Harris sent $25,000 to the Democratic parties in all four early nominating states: Iowa, South Carolina, Nevada and New Hampshire.
Then Harris crossed into this first-in-the-nation caucus state for the first time this year, stumping for Iowa Democrats and previewing the contours of her own likely campaign.
“We need to have a better vision for this country,” Harris told about 200 activists inside a community college auditorium in suburban Des Moines, railing against Republican economic policies that she said have hurt working Americans.
Framing an alternative — as she did in Wisconsin over the weekend — Harris touted a $6,000 tax break that she proposed last week for families earning up to $100,000 annually, a ready-made message for her effort to connect with Democrats in the Midwest.
“This is the moment in time that is requiring us to fight for the best of who we are,” Harris said Monday. “And the stakes are high. I don’t have to tell you what’s happening here in Iowa, where they’re privatizing Medicare, where we know that just in a very short period of time, people’s premiums are going to go up at least threefold.”
She said, “We are better than this.”

I always remember coming home after Boot Camp for Thanksgiving with the extended family, and I was excitedly and loudly telling a story, and stopped when I realized everyone was frozen and staring at me open-mouthed.
I thought “Was it something I said?” Then realized I had liberally been using the “F” word.
It was embarrassing, and that was when I began trying to curb my mouth, only really beginning to succeed when I got out of the Navy!
She was born in the United States which makes her a “Natural Born Citizen”. That’s more than Obama and he survived for 8 years. I wouldn’t bet any money on her Eligibility being a disqualifying issue.
Her parents were from some far off shore, and not citizens of this fair land. That fact makes her a citizen, not a NBC.

The thing is we never really know what he might say. In this case Brown Sugar would be too complimentary to a political opponent.

This is stated all of the time here on Free Republic, and I have YET to see any indication that this assertion actually has any basis in the real world.
If Harris decides to run for President no one anywhere is going to stop her, or even try, because her parents weren’t born here.

Harris is NOT ELIGIBLE to be POTUS or VP or any position that can succeed to POTUS.
Neither of her parents ere USA citizens when she was born in the USA. They became citizens 5-6 years later.
Harris is a NATIVE BORN citizen, because she was born here. She is a perfect example of an ANCHOR BABY, She is NOT a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.
I believe that this issue will come up before the USSC before long & that is another hidden reason why the Dems fought so hard to keep Kavanaough off the court.

I think you are wrong on that point. Unless you read that section like some try to misread the 2nd amendment, she does not qualify since neither of her parents were US citizens. She is simply an anchor baby. Now, it may well be that the court will rule in her favor, but like 2008, there is ridiculous avoidance by the court to even accept a case on the topic. At least in Obama’s case, one parent was a US citizen and, if I recall correctly since his birth the law changed from requiring that one parent being the father to that one parent being either father or mother. Neither of Harris’ parents were US citizens, which is significantly different situation.
