Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.
During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.
"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

And, the guy holding that German brown and rainbow trout isn't so bad, either. 😉
Good to see you, FRiend!
. The USA needed workers back then. There was lots of unoccupied land also. These immigrants did not march through ellis Island waving the flags of the countries that they left. I have a heritage from several other countries but I have never consideded myself any kind of hyphenated American.
LOL!
Looks good to me!
I saw that. Heartwarming.
So glad that Tucker is covering the speech suppression, of conservatives, by these leftist Big Tech outlets.
I’m a bit shocked that Fox management even lets Tucker or Hannity says such things. They’ve stifled Lou’s guests....I wonder if it’s just a matter of time before Tuck and Hannity guests get the same treatment.
They came here legally, and they fell under the jurisdiction of the US.
When you come illegally, you are under the jurisdiction of your home country, because the US has not accepted you as an immigrant.
My father was an American citizen, but my mother was not, when I was born.
But she emigrated legally through Ellis Island as a young child, so I was born a citizen.
However, the way, I learned it in the late 1960s, I was not natural born, because both of my parents were not citizens.
Ergo, I could be a Senator or a Representative, but not the President.
You better believe THAT issue will be a factor in 2020 for some candidates.
President Trump has said on numerous occasions that he has a heart to a fault.
On the one hand, he’s firmly for stopping the abuse at the border and controlling the border even long after he’s gone, he wants systems, laws, policies in place to stop the abuse.
On the other hand, he knows that some children were brought here or born here and have lived as Americans all their life, their place is here. So he’s said it will be case by case, he will put a policy in place that will be lenient towards such children, many who may now be adults.
They can all be lumped under DACA but that doesn’t mean all will be granted DACA status. Because a lot of liars exist. There are some bad people that are coached to lie about when they came to the US. They need to be separated from those that were truly born here or brought here as children.
So there will a ‘process’, a procedure manual for US immigration officers to find out who will be allowed to stay and who will be deported.
There will be a time limit to apply because the liars will not come out of the shadows for fear of deportation.
Many conservatives disagree with President Trump on this but the President does not want to be remembered as brutally harsh to someone that was born or brought here as a child and knows no other country, has friends here they grew up with, went to school here, speaks English as a first language or fluently, etc. It’s not their fault.
There will be policies and procedures. The key thing to understand historically is that there was great abuse, it will be cleaned up, those caught up in it through no fault of their own will be treated fairly and humanely, the rest will be deported or self-deport, and the abuse will not happen again. So this is a one-off.
If your relatives fall within the ‘cleanup’ policy, they have nothing to fear.
https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/meghan-markle-wore-fully-see-124500075.html Its unclear whether this was intentional, but when shes photographed from the side you can see that the 37-year-olds skirt is fully sheer. FULLY. Meghans a known risk-taker, sure, but even this feels a little edgy for the newest core member of the royal family.
I have a friend who is trying to get an account here. I told him about freerepublic. He says he keeps getting an error message saying internal error when he tries to register. Anybody have an idea?
Oh, dear!!
That is quite risky/risqué :-)
Try using a different device to see what the reaction is.
Correct.
I would add that an immigrant in those days had to have a sponsor that lived in the US and swore to take responsibility for the immigrant, so the immigrant would not be an economic burden to the country.
There were three separate medical checks on Ellis Island. You had to pass all three, or back on the boat you went for a trip to your native country.
My mother’s father worked in salt mines in northern Italy, went to war in 1916 fighting for the Italians against the Austrians in the Alps, was wounded and captured as a POW.
Came back after the war to the salt mines and said I am going to America. And he did. Six months later, he sent for his family to follow him. My grandmother, uncle and my mother, who was 3 at the time, came through Ellis Island in August, 1920 after a three week boat trip from Italy on the SS Argentina.
My other grandfather came two times in 1909 and 1912, and stayed.
Had these men not been brave enough to start a new life thousands of miles away, I would not be here.
Okay thanks, I will tell him to try that. I appreciate any and all ideas.
She looks like she is wearing ‘cheerleading tights’ under the dress. Must have been intentional.
Hi, CB.
That’s really strange. Does he have some sort of firewall that might be blocking?
I just opened a ‘private’ browser page, clicked on Register and it went straight to the registration page....no problem.
Maybe ping JimRob, if it continues?
