Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.

During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.

"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

MD is a closed primary state. Some conservative people register as a Dem because they can possibly influence a primary in some jurisdictions where the election is essentially over after the primary. Some elections, such as school board, are not by party. Baltimore City still believes that doing the same thing (electing a Dem) will result in a different outcome. The plantation/ good old boy/ corruption thing is strong in Maryland
