Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.
During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.
"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

We know our pets won’t live forever, but that doesn’t make it easier when they go...With our number of kids, grandkids and (now) great-grandkids, we haven't actually had a pet of our very own since about 1980.
Okay, I'm ending that with a /sarc.....it's probably only 1985.
The number of times we've heard the "Will you watch fill in a name until we can find an apartment/house where we can keep him/her/it?" is almost astounding. (And the number of animals that have been dumped out by the lane to the house is past accounting....we're rich farmers, donchaknow.)
Dogs, cats, ferrets, gerbils/rabbits/parakeets without number and a mystery Turtle who was actually as big as a **** serving platter....
And every one of 'em thinks (or thought as long as they were around) I'm the Master of the House and Feeder of All.
...stupid back lot behind the shed is getting so full of pet burial sites I should have lost track of names long ago, but I still remember every one of 'em.
....even that kitten I christened Closet Cat because it hid from everybody until the morning it dashed out in the road from whence it came and promptly got run over.
Oh, well.
Only got a couple of cats and four dogs in the house right now. None of 'em seem close to passing but I have always hated Memorial Services.
......Boy, am I going to get a reception whenever I hit that Rainbow Bridge.
...if I rate that deal.

I am so looking forward to seeing my pets that have passed on. I miss them all.
