The biggest ever!
I won 4$ - Doubled my money!!!
Insane! Ill still buy me one ticket.
That noted, I'll spend ten bucks on Tuesday's drawing because I'm old and stupid, I guess.
Do it.... and I hope you win. LOL
Can anyone explain, if you have bought a ticket already, do you need to buy another ticket now that this drawing has taken place?
Not complete sarcasm
Right now I dont have the money or time or strength to wind up dead in a vegas suite with tons of coke and prostites.
Better for me to have to keep working and stay middle class.
Just carry it as cash in your wallet.
:)
Tickets are only good for the date of one drawing.
True but I'd rather be sitting on the deck of a yacht off the coast of Greece with a beautiful woman than sitting in the gutter with a cardboard sign. I may not be happier but it'll sure feel that way; even if it's just for a little while.
Ill cal my realtor and delay closing escrow until Wednesday.
Im buying Lithuania
My dad played a nice prank some years ago on us kids. He got up early and went to the 7-11 and got a lotto ticket for the exact numbers that hit the night before.
Then he presented the ticket for us to check the numbers on. We went nuts. We won! The point of the story is to pay attention to detail, ie dates on ticket and to not find out the joke next to kitchen knives.
Some blue-colalr worker, welfare mom, or retiree living pension check to pension check is going to wake up Wednesday morning a billionaire. Their whole life will be upended. We can joke about having such problems but the reality is that for people who aren't really good with managing money, it's going to be very difficult.
It’s not old and stupid to buy a few tickets that don’t impact ones overall budget. Nothing wrong with giving fate a chance. <^..^>
In Florida the lottery was supposed to “supplement” educational funding. Funny thing, once the legislators saw how much money came in from the lottery, they cut the regular budgeted amount and there was no net gain.
Thats why I think the proceeds should go to the general tax payer. Lottery players essentially volunteering to pay other peoples taxes. Because whatever the gov keeps it will waste.
A couple of helpful hints for a lottery winner...
Contact an attorney first. If allowed by law do all communications through the lawyer.
Set up a trust. If allowed by law, have the trust claim the funds.
Have the trust put 90% of the funds in zero risk investments. 10% can go into higher risk/reward investments.
After taking an initial small percentage of the money to pay off current debts, take a trip, etc., DON’T TOUCH THE PRINCIPAL! Live off of the earnings of the investments. With proper money management you should be able to get 5% a year consistently. On a $500 million lump sum that is $25 million a year. Even on only a $1 million prize that is $50,000 a year.
If you are a big winner, do your charitable giving through the trust. Whenever ANYONE asks you for money, refer them to the trust board.
Set up relatives with annual disbursements (from the investment earnings) in lieu of a lump sum. They will be much less likely to ask for more in the future. Should an “emergency” arise, only distribute additional funds with the approval of the trust board.
Tickets for this one are $2. And cash value is only about half that. And taxes take a big chunk of that. So you are really risking a dollar to try to win *only* about $240 million.
I just hope that they dont stop selling tickets once it gets to a certain point. Im just curious to see how much itll get to by Tuesday.
Buying my tickets after work.
Thanks, FRiends.
Wow, Theoria, what a prank!
