I often wear shorts and T-shirts inside in winter when it is down to -20F outside. I also have two fireplaces, but the 2nd one has a wood pellet stove with a broken auger that I need to fix. The wood stove can keep the house pretty warm. The house is about 3,200 sq ft, but we keep unused rooms closed and the thermostats turned way down in those zones. Right now it is about 32F outside, but with the wood stove it is about 83F inside just running on medium.. And I am wearing a T-shirt.
I like to look at the fire in the fireplace, and read a good book when the weather is cold.
