How is that a crime and how is that “disorderly conduct”?

What was the context? Why did he show it and what did he say?

Disorderly conduct? A blind man could see that this is a non-existent charge for showing up in a picture doing nothing illegal.

But then again, it’s from the leftist, authoritarian Chicago and environs part of Illinois so nothing makes much sense there.

And some of the media still don’t realize “DES PLAINES, Ill.” should be “Des Plaines, IL”. The old state abbreviations pretty much died out some time back. (though I kinda liked them).

My recollection is that Wisconsin added an explicit right to keep and bear arms to its state constitution in 1998. More recently than that the Wisconsin Supreme Court had to rule that simply bearing arms was not "disorderly conduct". Law enforcement agencies had been arresting people for simply exercising their rights.

So, the answer to your question is that bearing arms is "disorderly conduct" for as long as lower courts will enforce that infringement and the Supreme Court fails to clarify that it is not.

Yup. If that’s all there is to the story, it’s a big nothing to give a half hoot about. If he were saying nutty, violent things, making threats, “shoot up schools”, etc. I can see him being checked out by LE.

Stupid and social media must be synonymous. Posting stupid pictures gets stupid results. If your bored get off you butt and go play in the street it would be safer. Can’t cure stupid I guess.

“Stupid and social media must be synonymous.”

I have little doubt the kid just isn’t all that bright. Whether he actually broke a law is another matter. But, yeah, social media tends to bring out the stupid in a whole lotta people.

“And some of the media still don’t realize “DES PLAINES, Ill.” should be “Des Plaines, IL”. The old state abbreviations pretty much died out some time back. (though I kinda liked them).”

It was the two letter US postal codes that killed them.

On the other hand, “Ill.” describes Illinois very well, MUCH better than IL.

The federal government came up with the two letter state abbreviations in 1963.

“This is beyond ordinary stupid.”

Perhaps so...but it is not illegal in this country to be stupid. Tens of millions of liberals agree.

Seriously...a kid holding an object that is perfectly legal for him to possess...? Unless he was actually threatening in context, I can’t see a problem here. And how did the popo acquire this information? The school (maybe all schools these days) must have a “surveillance department”.

I wonder what kids’ “permanent records” look like THESE days. We actually worried about what was in ours! And if you think that information somehow “disappears” or “is destroyed” after graduation these days...you are dreaming.

“Some time back”? You might say! Non-mandatory five-digit ZIP Codes were introduced nationwide on July 1, 1963 — only 55 years ago.

A lady caller once told Rush IOWA stood for Idiots Out Walking Around. It was during the primaries. I grew up in Missouri and the motto was “show me” and Missouri Mules were always held in high regard. Still are as far as I know. I like mine. Life is a hoot at times. Chicago is truely Ill.
