Seriously...a kid holding an object that is perfectly legal for him to possess...? Unless he was actually threatening in context, I can’t see a problem here. And how did the popo acquire this information? The school (maybe all schools these days) must have a “surveillance department”.
I wonder what kids’ “permanent records” look like THESE days. We actually worried about what was in ours! And if you think that information somehow “disappears” or “is destroyed” after graduation these days...you are dreaming.

Mine was. But then I graduated in 1978. I had a prospective employer ask me for my HS diploma. So I contacted my school. They laughed at me.
“We destroyed those in 1998.”
I got the job anyway.
