Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appealed for a sense of urgency Tuesday as he launched a new commission that aims to accelerate and expand ways the world can prepare for climate change.

“Without urgent adaptation action, we risk undermining food, energy and water security for decades to come,” Ban told guests as the Global Commission on Adaptation got underway in The Hague.

The commission’s mandate is to encourage the development of measures to manage the effects of climate change through technology, planning and investment. Ban is leading the group with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva.

A United Nations panel warned last week that preventing an extra single degree of heat in Earth’s climate could make a life-or-death difference for multitudes of people and ecosystems. […]

The commission has 18 founding nations, including China, Britain, the Netherlands and low-lying countries vulnerable to climate change such as Bangladesh and the Marshall Islands. The United States is not a member. …

“as many coal plants as they can until 2030.”

In other words, until the world ends, according to the Alarmists.

This is more hysterical than the UN’s previous “50 Climate Refugees By 2010” that they had to scrub off their website and pretend was never there eight years ago.

Of course, climateers will point to Greenland erroneously still.

Sorry; make that “50 Million Climate Refugees By 2010”. The UN loves its hyperbole.

A) Buy a coat.

B) Wear shorts, when the coat makes you too warm.

I can fix this for under 20 billion dollars. (That’s Gates, Steyer and Buffet’s donations since they are so caught up in this. I will also accept federal dollars from any government with the caveat that this is a private venture and while their contribution is appreciated, it doesn’t buy them a spot at the table.

For that money, I will pull more than a million people out of poverty, provide clean drinking water and set up another player in the global economy.

I will act as project manager, along with some chosen associates for purposes of security, cost, resource and material management, technology management, risk mitigation and environmental issues that may arise while the project is under construction. I will also employ local help and train them on the tools and techniques required for day to day operations once the project is complete.

And the best part, I will complete it within 10 years. It really is that simple.

No thanks, Climate Change Wacko also previously known as Global Warming Wacko.

We have an established and proven methodology to deal with the supposed catastrophes you are concerned about. The nice thing about this methodology is that it requires no central management, operates automatically and has zero need for government interference.

It’s called THE FREE MARKET. Try it some time. It works.
