DU Title ("Cherokee Nation: Warren's use of DNA test 'inappropriate,' 'wrong'") they posted from the Hill

They are unhappy with both the Cherokee Nation and the Hill now.

Typical comments (edited for profanity)

Vinnie From Indy (10,287 posts) 4. XXXX this jackass named "Chuck Hoskins" Who the XXXX is he to claim ownership over anyone's lineage?

LiberalFighter (36,505 posts) 36. Until Elizabeth Warren attempts to apply for Cherokee status he should STFU. He does not have any authority until then. It appears that he was trying to stir something up that he has no jurisdiction.

Coventina (18,183 posts) 43. It's called science. She has a Native American ancestor. Unless she is demanding tribal rights and privileges, there's nothing for them to complain about.

Raster (18,853 posts) 80. Senator Warren HAS NOT tried to claim tribal status or benefits... ..and only sought to verify her heritage. Senator Warren verifying her DNA has nothing to do with Cherokee "law and honor," and EVERYTHING to do with the Tribal government seeking to limit anyone they deem not Indian enough.

George II (30,785 posts) 10. Day by day The Hill is becoming more like Breitbart.

Yellowdog88 (42 posts) 9. Somebody please... Post this guy's condemnation of 45 when he hosted code talkers and invoked the Pocahontas slur. I'm sure it's out there.

brush (19,858 posts) 45. Sounds like somebody got paid.

Amimnoch 18. Perhaps they could muster outrage for Perhaps they could likewise muster some outrage for the constant, continuous “Pocahontas”, ? Or, on this exact same subject, the President’s call to TAKE this test as proof? Let’s be clear here, she isn’t using the test as a means to prove heritage, or claim benefits from heritage. This test was taken as a result of a DIRECT CHALLENGE from a sitting president, and said orange Hitler is the one who qualified this test as an acceptible result in HIS own words.

delisen (2,965 posts) 32. she is not claiming to be descended from the someone on the Dawes rolls is she? She has the right to publish her DNA test, does she not? How would she be interfering with Cherokee law? I think we all have the right to speak freely.

To read it yourself Google search for text : democrat underground Cherokee Nation: Warren's use of DNA test 'inappropriate,' 'wrong'

It comes up first for me

You’re a bad man.

And by the way, I totally approve of your actions!

Miss Marmelstein identified the chef whose recipe she, um, culinarily appropriated. Your point about the crab shows she didn’t put any more thought into that act than she did in releasing this DNA test!

She doesn’t even HAVE high cheekbones. Compare her to somebody like Katherine Hepburn - that’s high cheekbones! She’s a complete fool.

Their site reminds me of the land they defile during a rally. They just make a mess out of everything.

We all have thousands of ancestors, and our family trees become matted webs as we go back in time, which means that before long, our ancestors become everyone’s ancestors.

Adam's Law of Relativity:

If you go back far enough, we're all related.

LOL!

I see the recipe doesn’t have the usual cognac or sherry that is used in many crab dishes. Perhaps because Warren’s family went ape sh*t whenever they had fire water. Which only adds authenticity to her story, you must admit.

The Federal Government and the B. if Indian Affairs requires the applicant to be a member of a tribe, to have a family genealogy of proof, and be of at least 25% Native American to be able to identify.

Is that true? My understanding is that each tribe sets its own membership requirements. As for the Cherokee Nation, my understanding is that to qualify as a member, a person must prove, using recognized and accepted genealogical practices, that he or she is a direct descendant of a person listed on the "Dawes Census" of the Cherokee Nation from 1906, as amended in 1914.

Pocahonky’s recipe from Pow Wow Chow on here the other day.

I read the headline only, but the article claims the recipes were pirated, word for word, from a French recipe book. (Gotta go back and find it.)
