Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced this week that mandatory placards detailing immigrants’ rights will be displayed in police squad cars, and now some officers are pushing back.
The signs will be in both English and Spanish, and will be displayed in all of the city's squad cars.
"Right now, cities have to step up and do what our federal administration and Congress won’t," Frey said at a press conference Wednesday. “We will not let this lack of compassion at the highest levels of our government prevent us from doing what is right for our immigrant communities here in Minneapolis."
“They will make it clear that you don’t have to answer questions about where you were born, your immigration status, whether you are a citizen and that you have the right to remain silent,” he explained.

You make a very good point. There are over 7000 different languages spoken across the world today. Omission of even one of those languages on the placard is unacceptable.

They should all say: “you have the right to summary deportation with no appeal and seizure of all your assets within this country as the proceeds of criminal activity”.
Be sure to include the nearest welfare office location and don’t forget voting locations.
Be sure to include Frey’s home address with a note “free room and board”.
Yes, I seem to recall when Obola was in office we were often lectured that federal law is THE law of the land. Therefore this slob and others like her are in violation of it.
A very legitimate point. Many signs at clinics and businesses in this part of the stare are in English, Spanish and Somali.
However, I think the Spanish only placards are more offensive towards Latinos because they are implying that only Spanish speakers are here illegally. The questions they are told they don’t have to answer (where you were born, immigration status, etc) are only problematic if one is here illegally.

Reason No. 154 why citizens need to elect a pro-2nd amendment, constitutional sheriff to protect their families and communities.
I can see why some cops would be upset about actively abetting illegal activities.
