FULL TITLE: Review: 'Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer,' a none-too-subtle take on real-life courtroom drama

You can say one thing for “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” — it will never be mistaken for having a liberal bias.

A sensationalistic police procedural/courtroom drama chronicling the criminal investigation and subsequent 2013 conviction of Kermit Gosnell (Earl Billings), an African American abortion doctor charged with the murder of three infants and one mother, the film adopts a sanctimonious tone that’s anything but subtle.

What initially began as a probe into the dispensing of illegal prescriptions takes a gruesome turn when police and FBI agents descending upon Gosnell’s Philadelphia clinic discover a veritable house of horrors filled with severed body parts of fetuses, a number of which were witnessed to have been born alive.

It opened up in Huntington W Va tonight. I was the only one in the theatre and they had to run the movie because I bought that one ticket. I did not care I waited over a year for this I would not wait one more day. It was an excellent movie. I cried all the way back home and it was a long drive.

Can we say that about Black Panther? Get Out? The Post? Fahrenheit 9/11? Fahrenheit 11/9? Bowling For Columbine? Supersize Me?

Look I’m actually shocked the press is covering Gosnell this time, I’ll overlook their poor or poor excuse for journalism.

The LA Times seems a little confused about whether Kermit Gosnell did anything wrong or not.

I have two opinions about seeing this movie. I figure it's going to be depressing to see such naked evil openly revealed. Like watching documentaries about the Holocaust or the Ukrainian mass starvation under Stalin. The other choice is the left wants a movie like this to fail so buying a ticket to watch it is like rolling it up and sticking it in their lying eyes. I do enjoy disappointing the left.

You have to expect that from the left. I’m just glad they saw the film. One day the left will figure it out.

Notice the “who was charged with” after the name Gosnell instead of “accused” before the name of Kavanaugh. Subtle manipulation.

Nick Searcy directed this film. He is a Conservative not afraid of the label. Some may remember him as the chief US Marshall in Justified who supervises the main character.

Until I read this, I had no idea that Gosnell was African-American.

I don’t know why I need to know that, or what bearing it has on anything.

If it helps; Rotten Tomatoes has an 80% on it's tomato-meter which is a Ripe Tomato. However, the audience rating for this is 100%. The guy who wrote this review is listed with one of his snarky comments from the review; however, the other reviewers were complimentary to this film.

I understand your reluctance because watching something like this, as you say -- naked evil, is not easy. But, the Left does not want anyone to see this movie, so maybe we should see it just to show them that we won't be cowed by them as they try to hide this movie from people who might want to see it.

The Kermit Gosnell Movie Opens Today — Not Without Controversy, Of Course

(Snip)

It’s been more than four years since over $2 million was raised through crowdfunding to make a Kermit Gosnell movie, and today, that film finally hits theaters. But you might not know that.

We searched high and low for reviews of Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer among the usual suspects, but reviews by mainstream critics for the Gosnell movie are scarce. Nearly non-existent, actually.

As of Friday morning, the only Gosnell movie review that we turned up using Google and the newspaper database Nexis is this one in the Los Angeles Times.

Film critic Michael Rechtshaffen remarks that the Gosnell movie could “never be mistaken for having a liberal bias,” later using terms like “sanctimonious” and “sensationalistic” to describe it.

(Snip)

The film’s availability, perhaps not surprisingly, changes with geography. It’s downright easy to go see the Gosnell movie if you live in places like Texas or Alabama, while there’s literally only one movie screen in all of Manhattan showing the film.

Here in Philadelphia, the only theater within city limits screening the Gosnell movie is way out in Franklin Mills. It’s also showing in Media, Bensalem, Voorhees, Cherry Hill, Plymouth Meeting and Oaks.

I scanned the whole article, and I notice that the conclusion of the jury wasn’t stated either.

Which makes “was charged with” kinda tendentious, doesn’t it!
