Why the rush to find aliens? We say “hi” and the little 12 year old alien laughs when he zaps us to oblivion.

Any aliens within 100 light years has heard our radio and TV transmissions and wants nothing to do with us.

Wishing & hoping it’s so does not make it true. Speculation cannot turn lead into gold or create life among the myriad stars.

I've noticed researchers and scientists using it a lot these days.

The odds for intelligent life are tremendously small. In fact the odds for abiogenesis may also be tremendously small.
For now, the evidence indicates we are the only life in the Universe, and thus very special. And in that sense, we are at the center of the Universe.

Gee, do ya think? What percentage of infinity of the universe do you think humans have looked at so far? Ok, so maybe we do not know for sure the Universe is infinite...but it sure is so big that we kind of only seen a little bit of it.
This is the kind of news designed for unlearned people.

Actually bad analogy. That random hottub of sea water is overflowing with life. So far we’ve found zero life of any kind outside of earth.
