I have nothing against Catholics or Jews, but isn't there a Protestant qualified and available?
If you have a better candidate, tell us.
You’d think there was some hidden agenda to disenfranchise the Protestants who settled and built this country or something, wouldn’t you?
Actually, it's probably more due to those Catholics having most likely gone to private schools and getting the better education then the protestants.
Pure speculation on my part for the discussion.
Exactly. Jews are about 2% of the country, Catholics are around 22% period yet together they make a hundred percent of the Court. It’s just kind of odd.
Protestants are not qualified because they follow false gods, corrupt preachers, and lead sinful lives.
Ok, just kidding, trying to get things stirred up amongst the Freepers herein who will jump on Catholics for imagined evils.
I don’t care if it’s 9 Jews, or 9 Catholics, or 9 Protestants, or 9 Mormons, or 9 Baptists or 9 atheists, as long as they follow the Constitution and the law.
Actually, I may leave out the atheists, because they may shut down Christmas and I don’t want that because we all know that Christmas is important for business and the economy.
The income/education attainment levels now are
Asian
Jew
Irish/Italian
Wasp
The Irish and Italians are still riding on the capital of 20th century Catholic Private Education, which was a very good education at a bargain price. It lifted many families out of poverty and into professional lives and their children into even higher callings.

That is a very interesting list.
Of course, it would be even more interesting to see a list of all SC Justices with denomination over the last 120 years.
Shouldn’t be too long until a class action suit is filed by atheists (or Mormons, or [fill in the blank]) for under-representation. I imagine the plaintiffs attorneys could use the phony notion of “disparate impact”. /s
I agree.
