“Malinois are a very smart breed, but also very bitey. They really like to bite.”

To paraphrase Dirty Harry “Nothing wrong with a lot of biting, as long as the right people get bit”.

Do a google search for:

“Pitbull to be trained as police dog”

It turns out to be even bigger than I imagined. It is happening all over. And they are already using them.

That’s the second malinois that’s turned on its handler and had to be killed in the last two weeks.

Interesting it went for the nards. I’ve heard of private security dogs being trained to go for the groin so the handler might still have a clear shot at the perp’s boiler room. But never heard of an LEA doing it.

I am surprised and you are correct

I own pitbulls historically along with Rotts and Dobies and Alsatians and English labs for ducks and Giant Schnauzers and both Scott and Johnson bulldogs

I don’t think much of Bulldogs or Bull Terrier family dogs for smart work

However if you need to send a dog after a bad armed hombre in the woods at night

Pitbull or a Scott bulldog ...both are on my homepage as examples....the white pit and the black Scott with a white blaze.....would be formidable and fearless

Just don’t make it a complicated task

Johnson bulldogs are impressive looking but dull..pic of our deceased beautiful mama bitch on my homepage too....gorgeous sweet girl but very animal aggressive...to animals not people

Pits as police dogs, huge mistake.
Depts are turning away from Malinois because they are too aggressive.
Difficult to pull off a perp.

These are expensive mistakes the PD is making.

Couple a handler aggressive dog and a guy that’s a little too aggressive with corrections and things can get bad fast. A dog sure better know who’s giving out the commands and in control!
