The well-known Mormon Tabernacle Choir was renamed Friday to strip out the word Mormon in a move showing the faiths new president is serious about ending shorthand names for the religion that have been used for generations by church members and previously promoted by the church.
The gospel singing group will now be called the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said in a statement. Its a nod to the home of the choir for the last 150 years, the Tabernacle, located on church grounds known as Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City.

Beautiful place with amazing acoustics. I had the pleasure of listening to the choir rehearse when visiting SLC for a conference.

I went to a Mormon funeral a while ago. It was....interesting, to say the least. And nowhere Jesus was mentioned.

I think traitorous, open-borders ideologies and assclowns like Mitt Romney and Jeff Flake are a bigger issue than what they call themselves.

So will they also rename the Book of Mormon?
To: C19fan
Speaking of Mormons, anyone notice the Senate Judiciary Committee has 2 Mormons on it? (Or three, anyone know if Mike Lee is a Mormon?) What percentage of our country is Mormon?

Mormon Tabernacle Choir renamed.
to Mormon Starship?
To: Buckeye McFrog
They must be trying to hide the description word MORMON so those who are not educated on types of religions would think they are the real deal (Christian). This would be a good way to increase their church membership especially to those who have spent years lost in the world of many paths.

"*Which is what they call all non-Mormons, including JOOOOOOOOS." i believe you are incorrect. i found the following: " Nephis Message to the Gentiles S. Michael Wilcox And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations. (Book of Mormon, title page) Chapters 25 through 33 of 2 Nephi contain Nephis final messages. They had a profound influence on later Book of Mormon prophets and have great relevancy today. Nephi addresses his comments to three main groups of people: the Jews, the descendants of Lehi, and the Gentiles."

Eh, I can only go by the testimony of a Jewish friend.
Dunno if he had any bosom-burning about it, though.

I went to a Mormon funeral a while ago. It was....interesting, to say the least. And nowhere Jesus was mentioned. That's interesting. When we toured Temple Square our tour guide must have said the phrase "preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ" at least 15 times. It sounded almost defensive, as if she was saying "Yes, we are too Christians". She also was quite robotic, very stepfordish. I kept asking questions to try and knock her off her script but couldn't.
BTW, it's a beautiful place, well worth visiting. Talk about sparing no expense!
