There is no coincidence that the media has been focusing much more on other stories today.
Cloture means THE END; no more delay, no more stalling of ANY kind, and no more demands; though it is followed by 30 hours of “debate” of sorts. Then comes the vote.
I wouldn’t be quite so sure yet.
McConnell probably would have filed cloture anyway simply to call any bluff Flake, Collins or the Alaskan cow had made. I mean he has to call a vote anyway right, why wait? He has to put everyone on record even if he knew he didn’t have the vote simply to put the red state Democrats on the spot.
The news is good, but I am not terribly confident in Flake, Collins or Murkowski.

No, all it means that he’s tired of messing around with it and he wants to force the vote. He would do it even if he didn’t have the votes so people would be on record prior to the election.
