Good track from 1987. For those who think Pink Floyd's last great album was 1979's "The Wall", it's well worth checking out their 1980s and 1990s material. They didn't get much airplay but were still in top form for at least two more decades.

I used to interpret this song as a yearning for freedom/independence. I don’t know what the artist intended but I feel like it is a reference back to a line in “Mother” by Pink Floyd on The Wall “Mama’s gonna keep you right here under her wing. She won’t let you fly but she might let you sing”

Saw them for two shows on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour- Cleveland, then Pittsburgh. Amazing show, still the best I have ever seen.

Great show. Mr. Roberts and I saw that concert in Foxboro Massachusetts back in the day. We were so young then.
