He has an incentive clause in his contract that said if he pitched 155 innings this year, he would earn a $500,000 bonus. Through the first five innings Thursday, Sabathia had pitched 153 innings — two shy of the bonus.

Hoping they’ll put him in for an inning each in 2 of the last 3 games.

Unlikely, but he’s now worse than half of the bullpen.

Retaliation bean balls aren’t protecting anybody. Especially not in the AL where pitchers never get to the plate.

I don’t think Sabathia would have gotten two more innings out of that game. He hasn’t pitched seven full innings in a start since June.

With a current salary of only $10 million, I'm more than willing to send him my jar of quarters in order to help him make ends meet.........
