The father of the 6-year-old autistic boy whose body was presumed to have been found said hell live as a broken man and with the guilt of not being there to save my son for the rest of his life.
Now today i found out im not a dad anymore, Ritch wrote on Facebook Thursday, the day the likely body of his son was found. From this moment on for the rest of my life i will live with the guilt of not being there to save my son. The most important person in my life.
I wanted to be his heroe [sic]. I wanted him to say i was more than superman or batman to him, Ritch wrote. I wanted people to ask him who his heroe is and him say my daddy. Now im no heroe i couldnt save him or protect him at all. I would give anything to go back and save him.

Forgive...but something seems wrong here....more to this story?
So sad.
Everyone believed Susan Smith, too. We shall see.
Bummer,feel for the guy
So sad. So sad.
see what
Heartbreaking, as the mom of a 6 yr old nonverbal autistic child this has me in tears. My child has also bolted many many times when out at a park or playground - luckily I have 2 other children, and we never allow her to get more than maybe 10 feet away from any of us. It takes ALL of us to keep her safe.
My heart breaks about this child.
His ‘speech’ is all about himself, his pain, his guilt etc.,
No mention of his child’s pain, suffering, fear and wondering how he died.
Very suspicious circumstances surround this poor little boy’s death.
Seemed very fishy from the start.
I can only imagine the anguish Mr. Ritch is going through. Not a day will go by he doesn’t think of Maddox.
Prayers for Mr. Ritch, and may God Almighty welcome Maddox into His Mercy with open arms.
I should feel for this man but something’s off.
“Everyone believed Susan Smith, too. We shall see.”
I know of no one that believed Susan Smith.
I'd like to see what, if any, witnesses saw at the time the kid supposedly ran off. Ok, I'll say it, did dad murder his autistic son?
In this case, it appears that law enforcement is encouraging the father to talk, and talk a great deal to the media.
That is not good for him and being that he is not president of the local Mensa group, he may trip himself up.
BINGO!! This child was KILLED most likely by someone who thought he was INCONVENIENT! SAD.
With no autistic child of my own, I do know what it is like for a loved one to be missing, and I have hunted with neighbors for a neighbor’s autistic son who use to get out of the house on his own, walk out of the yard, and not make it back home on his own. Fortunately he was found nearby by someone every time. Everyone feels the anguish and anxiety but none so much as the parents. Heartbreaking.
Indeed. On an earlier thread we discussed searching for ‘autistic children murdered by parent’ and there were dozens of cases.
Child abuse is rampant - following the last decades of pro-abortionists. Killing innocent lives is the most evil of all sins.
God have mercy and help us stop this evil.
“Seemed very fishy from the start.”

I dunno.
But on this - “the boy started running and never stopped. Ritch said he couldnt catch the boy before losing sight of him” - is that dad disabled so that his 6 year old could outrun him?
A lot of time in situations like this a dad is not even mentioned.
I saw the exact same thing too. I know an innocent man in his position would be broken, but I am wary of the dad. Hope I am wrong.
