Oh, if that’s yours then now I’m envious.

I lived not far from Gunny Hathcock in his final years and never took the time to visit. He didn’t know me from Adam, but I understand in his last few years he would entertain stoppers-by like the old days.

I never did get to shake his hand. Too bad. Much respect for White Feather. Warriors pass.

Unfortunately, no, not my photo. I never got to meet the Gunny either.

I was always a decent shot with whatever I picked up but never in his league. I know how to direct a battleship's guns but I never got to shoot those either.

The biggest thing I ever shot was a 5"/50 ship's gun. Some army guys down at Ft Hood were nice enough to let a Navy guy shoot an M1 Abrams main gun. They wouldn't let me aim it but I did get to pull the trigger. It's a lot louder outside the tank than inside.
