Regardless of the guilt or innocence of Kavanaugh, it is ridiculous to think that what someone did in high school, should determine his character after leading an exemplary life for the next 40 years.
The average person looking at this is intelligent enough to look at this for what it is, no matter what they claim. To me it is like the "hanging chad" controversy when they were trying to claim that George Bush was elected illegitimately because the people in Florida were too stupid to vote correctly.
Both of these tactics are pathetic and defy common sense - but you can't even google anything that disagrees with the forgone conclusion that Kavanaugh in unfit and CBF is a feminist hero.
I don't think average people want to be judged by high school hijinks. I am a completely different person than I was in high school, as with most people who grow and mature.
I don't believe this convenient tale about Kavanaugh for one minute, but even if it WERE true, so what? He was not alleged to touch her anywhere that is inappropriate and allowed her to leave the room when she resisted. To me this is pretty slim stuff to be making such hysterical claims about like "sexual assault". There is no way that this is even close to a sexual assault. If you want a real definition - check out what is alleged against Keith Ellison.

No matter what happens, Kavanaugh needs to sue for defamation after events conclude (I still think he will be confirmed).
He needs to sue to make sure the left doesn't try this crap again. There needs to be blood debt paid.

In some ways, what is happening to Kavanaugh should be liberating. This is a man who lived his entire adult life with a goal of being on the Supreme Court. He did nothing unsavory. He made all the right moves and got all the right jobs. He is a bland, “Establishment” Republican who George Bush and John McCain would be proud of. And yet . . . . . here he is being accused of rape and smeared just like the worst conservative firebrand judge would be. The Democrats don’t give a pass to Republicans who play nice when it matters, and it matters now. They want to destroy every Republican. Even Bush and McCain were turned into demons when they were running for president. But some Republicans still play the stupid game of trying to be fair and buying into the media narrative as if they will ever get a fair shake.

OK, here’s my “coming clean” moment...

I would put it this way.
After Iwo Jima, the Allies in the Pacific theater of WWII correctly surmised that the only way to win the war was to expect no quarter, and therefore to give little to no quarter. That is when the carpet bombing of Japanese cities, the mining of the Japan Sea, the effective starvation of the Japanese mainland, the annihilation of the Japanese army in Okinawa, and eventually the dropping of the atomic bombs ended the war. The only reason it got to the nuclear option was that Japan didn't surrender sooner.
Politics, the saying goes, is war by other means, and that is how the opposition acts. Any future SCOTUS nominee by Trump or any GOP successor should expect a succession of kamikaze and banzai attacks, and the GOP must respond as the Allies responded to such attacks in WWII, by obliterating the attackers until they choose to surrender.
P.S. This also includes any necessary legislation and/or repeal of legislation, any political electoral contests, any other nominations for positions, and any civil service positions. In war, it is the opposition who sets the terms of engagement, and the scorched earth tactics of the Democrats and their willing accomplices have become plain for all to see.
