A wounded Army specialist was reunited with his working dog in Texas last week after each were awarded a Purple Heart for their heroism.
Spc. Alec Alcoser and Alex, an 8-year-old German shepherd, were back together after both were badly injured in a suicide bombing last month in Afghanistan.
Alcoser was reportedly left with a multitude of broken bones from the blast and took shrapnel to 30 percent of his body. His canine companion also lost his left rear leg.

Good grief! Fox can do better than that. How hard would it be to administer a sixth-grade grammar test to applicants? That’s the second headline today from Fox with a glaring error.
This man and the dog were heroes, they fought hard and were seriously wounded.
Also, some dogs are better than some humans.
The good doggy would have appreciated a big fat steak more.
So give the dog a steak too. :)
