How conspiracy theories spread from the Internet’s darkest corners

While QAnon is 8chan’s most visible success, anons also run many smaller campaigns. These have less obvious connections to QAnon. For example, on Sept. 5 one anon on the /qresearch/ board posted an image of a woman exchanging money and another image of the same woman being escorted out of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing. The anon suggested this was evidence she was a paid protester. Another anon combined the images, along with a third close-up image of the woman’s hands holding the money, and formatted the final combined image so it could be easily shared on mainstream social networks. The final product included the snappy hashtag #activismatwork. To signal the image was ready to promote into the mainstream social media world, the anon who created the image declared, “Ready to meme.”

The image, which promoted the unsubstantiated theory that the woman was a paid protester, quickly jumped on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and on many blogs and online political forums.

With just this clip of the article who is actually spreading conspiracy theories they havent proved the woman wasn't being paid to protest all they did was point out that photos were taken

I'm not a Q supporter but if his/her stories are true i wouldn't call it conspiracy either trying to turn something into conspiracy when its factual is tantamount to mental instability

I seen the pics no one claimed the paying of protesters was staged not then and not even in this article they try to hint you into believing it most subtly so say who the conspiratist here Q or the Washington post ?

They say the perps of Q have already confessed that it was all a big hoax. So how come Q is still putting out their posts?

So here is a WaPo article about Q, not in the Q “homeland” thread. What are you going to do about this?

This article does come the day after Trump says he's going to release DoJ files.

The WP has to prime their readers so they can explain the DoJ files as nothing but feeding conspiracy theories.

“Trump Russian collusion” is probably the most deleterious conspiracy theory of the decade, and it had its genesis in government.

Here are the stats on Reddit's "greatawakening" subreddit before it was closed. Since websites make money from page views, think about why they did that (hint: who do websites rely on?)

Read Jim Robinson's thread from last night, please.

All Q stuff is ONLY to be posted to the bi-weekly Q threads and NOT anywhere else.

Well I will tell you one thing. If anything should be banned here then it is the Washington post. Years ago they sued Free Republic and they have not printed a word of truth about anything in years. They are evil.

I was here for that too and know FR's history very well; as you appear to.

You'll get no argument at all, from me, re what you said about the WaPo; I concur completely.

BTW- This link was included in Q’s first post today(Tuesday). But I still have not clicked on it. I won’t click on a Washington Post link. Not even for Q.

WashPoo was directly connected to the government’s planted “news” items about the RussiaRussiaRussia conspiracy.

"If anything should be banned here then it is the Washington post."

Debunking WaPo is not as important as bashing Q (to many freeps).

1) “Hate speech” is relegated to “internet’s darkest corners”
2) Everything conservatives say is labeled “hate speech”
3) Conservatives can only “assemble” and “speak” at “internet’s darkest corners”
4) Every conservative statement (including conspiracy theories) comes from “internet’s darkest corners”
5) FB/google/twitter/DNC win that battle
