t seems that every other day, a Bridezilla meltdown goes viral. Last month, a bride vented on Facebook after her guests declined a $1500 donation towards her special day.
And today, another bride has some warped expectations about her wedding.
In a viral Facebook post posted to Reddit, a bride has completely slammed her guests for not RSVPing to her $2000 destination wedding in Hawaii. She began by admitting that a $3000 wedding in Thailand might have been too much. But that a $2000 Hawaii destination wedding is within everyones reach. Except, erm
Its not.

Nah, this has been going on for decades. Spending $200 to $300 per person is normal now.
My MA son was married in Hawaii.
We deliberately did NOT invite most people from MA formally, they would have felt obliged to give a gift.
It was very casually done and those who DID go had a great time.
.
Likelihood this is real: 5%.
Likelihood this is some kind of clickbait scheme: 95%.
Well Bye.
My husband and I had a lovely Hawaii wedding. It was just the two of us. That was the whole point of flying off to Hawaii to get married.
It’s clickbait both for readers who think this is perfectly reasonable behavior - or at least in the zone - and for those who think it’s insane or immoral.
A perfect storm for the advertisers. My son is a number-cruncher in a digital advertising company. They’re clever folks - they know what you look at.
These days, this is entirely believable.
Sad to say.
Demanding 2K from guests is not normal and has not been going on for decades.
That groom better run - fast, far; never looking back if he knows what’s good for him.
What was he doing with such a selfish narcissist in the first place? Maybe he’s cut from the same cloth, I don’t know.
This guy is a total moron if he stays.
The last Bridezilla chick’s man ran away. He had a pair.
My daughter & son-in-law eloped in the spring and had a reception at home in the summer. Inviting people to a destination wedding is for the very wealthy not the average folk.
We had lumpia and rumaki at the Chiefs club.
No, don't do that! Don't throw me in dat dere briar patch!
Ah, lumpia, a wonderful feature of my life as a Navy brat.
I told my kids I want a destination funeral. Take some life insurance money, scatter my ashes in the waters around Tahiti and then enjoy a couple of weeks with their spouses.
They seemed pretty excited...
Pancit noodles too! Open bar!
Wow, I must be getting old and curmudgeonly.
Three modern trends I cannot stand:
Destination weddings - Not going, sorry. No gift for you!
Gender reveal parties - I can wait until your child is born to learn its sex.
Tatoos - Sorry, not attractive or cool for 99.9% of the population.
” Bride threatens guests when only seven people said they’d attend her destination wedding.”
I wouldn’t go to her funeral if was a block away.
