Not too bad of a place. Better than CA IMO. Where are You located ? I used to be on Bolivar St near Loop 380 and Carroll Blvd sort of catty-corner from the Kroger with TWU a few blocks away.

Worked 12 hour Shifts at the South Water Plant, Nights 1 Month then swap to 12 Hour Day Shift so I rarely got out and about except for running errands and shopping.

If You need a good Meat Market there’s one up from Kroger called Dan’s Meat and Produce at 2736 North Elm up on the North end of 77. Back when I was there I would get Whole Beef Tenderloin in VacPacs for about $8.00 @ pound, Kroger was $22.00 @ pound. Dan’s was WAY better quality. Plus Dan’s has all kinds of other goodies. I never had Anything bad from there. I would cut My own Steaks 1-2” thick and it came out to about $2.50-$3.00 each and that would be $25.00 at a Restaurant or Steakhouse.

There was also a Produce Market in Old Downtown near the Park at Withers St. and North Bell Ave. They always have Fresh everything even Black Eyed Peas that get shucked at the Store.
