As an inherently political comedy, CBS Murphy Brown revival was fully expected to take on the Donald Trump presidency, and now we know it will include his controversial immigration policies.
Relative newcomer Adan Rocha has been cast as a new series regular on the new Murphy Brown, from original creator Diane English and Warner Bros. TV.
First appearing in the shows second episode, he will play Miguel, a Mexican Dreamer who came to the United States at the age of one. Now hes a college student working at Phils Bar alongside Phyllis (Tyne Daly) for extra money to put toward tuition. Quick with a quip, hes always making cracks about The Wall and ICE.
English previously had said that the revival would address Trumps attacks on mainstream media and its coverage, which he brands fake news.
Candice Bergen is back as intrepid investigative journalist and news anchor Murphy Brown. Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto and Grant Shaud reprise their roles from the original series. Charles Kimbrough, who was the newscast anchor in the original, is set to do three episodes of the remake as a guest star. New series regulars include Daly, Jake McDorman as Murphys grown-up son Avery, and Nik Dodani as Pat Patel.
Rocha previously did arcs on IFCs Brockmire and Freeforms The Fosters.
I never watched it. No interest here.
She had to admit, several years later, that Dan Quayle was RIGHT. That must have hurt.
They would never dare portray the illegal invader as a felon who has been deported 13 times before finally murdering a defenseless female.
Candice dated Donald Trump once when they were both in college.
The original run was liberal and topical which killed it in the rerun market.
Viewers don’t like always having to pull up Wikipedia while they’re watching to figure out what they’re worked up about in 1990.

Gee, aren’t they brave.
Yes, and I forgot about that.
Nothing else about her TV show was memorable; only that bit of virtue-signalling, which was a harmful lie done to pander to her low-rent audience.
No originality from Hollywood, just hate trump 24/7

7 face lifts later
Looking forward to never watching this show.
Anything that talks about "speaking their truth" is a automatic turn off. There is only truth and lies.
When you hear "speaking their truth" you know they are going to be lying through their teeth.
Golden Girls has that problem too but not as bad. And at least it was funny.

At least “Laugh In” in the 1960s was that good deal funnier and not always topical, even though it certainly had it’s liberal leanings.
