Festival organizer John Bruner has led the Bigfoot 911 explorer team for years here. He says they used the juice about a year ago and finally hit pay dirt.
"We were doing an expedition and I had one cross the forest service road about 30 yards from where I was at, and I got a really good look at it," Bruner says. "I've been hunting Bigfoot for 40 years and doing research and it was just totally exhilarating for me. ... I finally got to see one after all I've went through and all the time I've spent in the woods."
It's a sentiment shared by many other researchers here at the festival, like Lee Woods.
"The female we saw probably right between 11:30 and 11:45 at night. And we saw her with some night vision. And that was the first one I'd ever seen," says Woods. Years later, he claims to have seen a male sasquatch, some 9 feet tall.
"And once you see it, it's ingrained in your brain. Trust me [laughs]. Yeah, you don't forget it. The reason I say that is the guy who actually saw it with me his name is Sam, and he's ex-Marine and he said he'd never been so scared in his whole life when he seen it. And he's never came back. Yeah, that's how scared he was."

Fossils? Nope. Just always some guy who claims he’s seen one.
With all of the wildfires we’ve had out west in recent years, how come nobody has ever seen Bigfoot running out of the woods to escape the fire?
Probably has a fire-proof cave deep underground.
First, where are the woods?
Western NC wilderness or piedmont od coastal wilds?
I’ve been a Bigfoot obsessed fan since 1967, when the PG film was discovered. Few people even knew the lore until the mid 80’s. Before then, the average height reported was 7’. Today, suddenly, the average height reported is 9’ to 11’. The more I watch Moneymaker’s crew, the less I believe. Soon, there will be sightings in Hawaii. Anyway, why is it that when researchers interview eye witnesses, they NEVER, EVER ask “How does your sighting compare to the Patterson footage?”.
Is finding bigdoot or mountain monsters back in production?
Yup! They call him Gilyuk, and the oral tradition of the natives there is he's extremely dangerous.
I think the folks in the Uwharrie area are tryin to cash in on this gig as well.
There sure ain't much else there. d;^)
I was in Nantucket once ... there was this girl ...

That’s not the way I remember the limmerick...
Not as far as I know. The execs weren't too happy with Bobo Fay last year. I've never seen Mountain Monsters... Will have to check it out. The little kid in me still loves Bigfoot.
mountain monsters was a great production.
much more action than thumps & yelps on finding big foot.
there was another off shoot from mountain monsters “alaskan monsters” that was pretty “real” too.
created by same producers as “mountain monsters” same format.
another great show.
Interesting! Thank you for sharing that, thinden! I’ll check it out, for sure. Also, do you have any favorite Bigfoot movies yet? I think I’ve seen most of them, but just curious...
