Surgery is scheduled
Dr sez,"Cake Walk" !
Right claw wakes me up at night 2 3 times. Worse/terrible at that time. Swim laps it starts up at about the the 10th lap, I stop and shake it out ,comes back till I leave the pool.
Those are the only times.
Night time interrupts my sleep, dont like that.
Sleep is good need my straight 8.
Splint thing helps at night.
Same hand trigger finger on index and thumb
Thinking about doing all 3 things at once.
Pos or Neg input requested.
If your gonna do both surgeries at once you will need someone lined up to handle wiping your backside and holding your willie while you tinkle. You will be OOC for at least a week.
Youre deficient in magnesium
No I am not
I had open CT surgery on both hands at once about 2 years ago. Relief was immediate in my dominant right hand; however the left hand symptoms (three finger numbness) have persisted until present, albeit not as bad as pre-surgery. I would say anytime that surgery is performed, the risk of a non-successful outcome is always there. Had I to do it over again, I would have gone one hand at a time with the laparoscopic technique. Also, it is my understanding that a second corrective surgery almost never works if the first one was unsuccessful, So be careful in making your decision.
Funny,
Nope only the R one.
Left is starting up but very mild and quite manageable
Timing this to the upcoming snow and removing the mower deck and splitting the remainder of the wood.
Figure should be back up by mid Oct
Thanks
Read where the open is much more successful the the scoping.
Down time is longer but success rate better.
All the explanations made sence to me
Had a guy that worked in the meat dept of the grocery store. Came in one day saying he was scheduled for tomorrow to have both hands done at the same time. Its usually the tiny details that muck up the works!
Thanks I think I am ok in that regard.
30 laps 4 times a week, weights 2 times but only 15 laps those days and all for as far back as i can recall.
145 lbs dont have a smart phone just turned screw drivers wrenches used needle nose and all kinds of hand tools and more for 50 years so I think that may, a big maybe have contributed to it.
The stuff about a computer mouse is unproven
Would never do both hands. If I do go it will be doing index and thumb trigger and the CT.
Just on the fence on the CT. The triggers are an annoyance and just plain pissing me off although the surg said the CT may play a roll in the Thumb trigger?
Have one hand done at a time. Which hand to choose first, Think which hand do you wipe your butt with. Simple answer, do you want to deal with not being able to wipe your butt with your preferred hand 1st (first) or 2nd (second.)
How did I feel right after the operation, Like I was somehow able to catch with one hand the swinging bat of a GREAT HOME RUN (as in baseball) BATTER. Hurt me like all get-out. I told Doctor, if I didn't get something EXTRA for the PAIN, I wasn't going to get it done. They gave me something, and was VERY THANK-FULL.
Ref: "Scalenotomy." Although with most surgeries there is some pain, I don't recall it being OVER WHELMING.
Had this all done in the early 1990's. If I still had to work every day for a living, I would need to have it done again.
How bad was I, if you were to lay down a row of Penney's just 10 (ten) in each row, and ask me just to flip them over using both hands at the same time, 3 (three) different test(s,) same results, I could only get to the 3rd {third} Penney. Plus they would test the ulnar nerve via electrical. Right there & then, after each test of the ulnar nerve, the doctor's would say NOT GOOD, proves your not B.S-ing with turning over the Penney's.
If your wondering, GEE'ZZ what did this guy do for a living? Autobody & Fender repair, and at the time was Painting Airplanes for an airplane manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. Sounds like / similar to the word "GOING," but with a letter "B." In doing Autobody work maybe on average I would "SPRAY-PAINT" both primer, & paint. approx. One to two gallons per week. Spray-Painting airplanes, I was using approx 18 - 20 gallons per day. 747's & 767's aren't small.
I had a hair test some years ago to calibrate spouse hair test.
Mine came back high in arsenic....traced to consumption of cheap red wine.
Regarding sleep problems...try some hops buds in the pillow...seems to work for me...now I sleep 6 hours instead of 4.
Regarding joint pain...was taking turmuric but didn't seem to have any effect....recently started some Co-Q10 and joint pain went away.
I'm no physician, but my point is, it is good to stay on this and figure things out - maybe get a couple of different opinions.
The neurologist had delayed putting pen to paper and dx'ing him with Parkinson's for a few months. Later, we kind of figured out why: once you get PD diagnosed, you are precluded from obtaining some types insurance such as Long-term Care Insurance. So for anyone reading this, it's best to buy insurance you are thinking about getting BEFORE a doctor dx's a serious condition.
Hope this helps, and like I said, not trying to worry you, just thought the information might be useful.

I had a choice and went with open due to percentages of success and docs experience. I would say a week or less recuperation, minimal pain. Just inconvenient for a few days particularly if bi-lateral. About inch- inch and half incision in middle base of hand.
It could have been worse.
You could have had neuropathy in the feet.
Kiss of slow painful death.
Sounds like you waited WAY too long for the surgery. I gave physical therapy a year before deciding I had to have the surgery, as the PT alone wasn’t working. However, it did a great job of preparing my hand for the surgery, a fast comeback, and a 100% successful surgery. Eventually, I had it on the other hand as well, and followed the same course. If you wait until your hand is a painful clenched claw, you may not get the same great results I did. I do, however, wish you the best of luck in surgical success and PT followup. I wish for you a complete return of your normal hand functions and a cessation of pain.
You must have a lot of green in your life.
Can you expound on that. Please.
Wish we had a holistic forum!
Your blood sugar is normal? What’s caused this?
Mag is the #4 mineral in our bodies but its the major relaxing mineral and makes 350 other things work, sync, absorb. If you’re not supplementing with it you’re going to be deficient. Its not in our water and food anymore, our bodies purge it when we’re stressed and there are at least 3 toxic halide that mimic mag and other minerals and block absorption on our receptors
Sounds like you waited WAY too long
How ya figure havent said how long this has been going on
