The first Women’s Flyweight title defense for champ Nicco Montaño against Valentina Shevchenko was to the co-main but Montaño was hospitalized for a bad weight cut. A POed Dana White has stripped her of the title and says Shevchenko will fight for the vacant belt as soon as possible
Woodley
Diego! (Can’t beleive He’s fighting again- woot!)
Miller
FYI never bet on the white guy
Nice! And I logged on in time to make some picks this time. And it looks like the matchmakers did a great job (overall) in setting these fights up.
For the main, I’m picking Till. Woodley is a really good fighter, but for some reason I just can’t like the guy, so I’m rooting for him to lose.
Co-main, I’m hoping for an upset win for Kowalkiewicz.
Magomedsharipov looks like a lock for a win over the guy with a Gordian knot tattoo down one of his legs.
Rivera versus Dodson looks like it’s about guaranteed to be a good fight. I’ll pick “El Terror” Rivera in a coin flip.
Price over Alhassan in another really close match-up.
Suarez’s face bugs me, but I’ll pick her to beat Esparza via submission.
Taking Funk Master in the next one, just because of his nickname. Aljo and Stamann are both solid.
No pick for Neal versus Camacho.
Taking Darren “The Dentist” Stewart over Byrd.
White over Sanchez, after which Sanchez should retire. I love the fighter he used to be, but that guy doesn’t get in the cage anymore.
Ditto with the other White over Jim Miller.
Rounding it out with Aldana and Brooks.
I will take Woodley, Andrade, Zabit Magomedshapirov (what the Hell kind of name is this, and does one really need that many letters in a name?!), Rivera, and I’ll pick Diego Sanchez just for kicks, cuz that dude is pretty cool sometimes.
Till, Zabit, Andrada
I’m pleasantly surprised that both Jim Miller and Diego Sanchez won their fights. Good to see that they still have what it takes.
And there were some serious OMG fights on the card. T-wood, of course, and the two different Suloev stretch submissions, the brilliant head-kick KO by Neal and one-punch KO by Andrade, plus way Suarez (wo)man-handled Cookie Monster. That would have been a great event to see live.
