Prayers for mother and son. Although rare, an attack by a giraffe is a serious event. Those are extremely large and powerful animals capable of fending off lions.

The mother sounds like she had adequate training but sometimes even the best trained and most cautious will find themselves in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Too bad the little boy was there too.

What the heck, taking a toddler so close to a mother giraffe and her baby. Bet the toddler was throwing a tantrum which frightened the giraffe. The human mother was likely at fault.

Giraffes grow up to 19 feet tall and can weigh over a tonne. Males become aggressive in mating season and females when protecting their young.

It SHOULD hurt to be stupid!
Don't go into 'nature' to annoy wild animals. The Australian guy killed by the stingray learned that the hard way.
The way I figure it, my ancestors worked hard to get OUT of wild animal territory and if God meant me to still be there I would have been born in Kenya. Stay in civilization! Knowing how wild animals sleep or defecate isn't worth your life.
