I hope he quit his job like Ram Jam in “The Wrestler”
Thanks to Trump, he actually got a real job!
Had some disease
Parnets stole all his money
Couldn't get roles
Had to become mall security guard, but famous
"Come on, do it just once..!" 20x daily
Finally punches nasty teaser, fired
Falls down, bleeding, some say new wife never called 911, wanted him dead
He’s ashamed about working a respectable job and earning a living? This guy has a screw loose - appearing on the Cosby Show 40 years ago doesn’t make an honest living now something to regret.
I don't remember him.
Can't even imagine someone recognizing him to be honest. Perhaps he's behind the shaming campaign?
Throughout this entire “Geoffrey Owens @ Trader Joes’” incident, I heard only a small number of people actually ‘shaming’ him for working there. I heard a lot of ‘I’m surprised he has to do this kind of work’, but very few real put-downs. I saw no one call him a failure. Most had just forgotten about him.
Still, if he was already insecure about holding a cashier job in the first place, he most likely did not want any more attention for that reason. It may work out for the best, as Tyler Perry seems to be offering him a chance to audition.
I was glad to see so many different people giving him support and encouragement.
Freepers: Reading Comprehension!
He was SHAMED by social media and media outlets for doing what we would consider the right thing to do!
Lay off the guy.
If this is how and what REALLY happened, it is a shame. There is dignity in work. I applaud the guy for doing a job.
My father always taught me that anybody who earns an honest living is worthy of my respect.
OMG, when TJs opens a store, they have 10x the number of applicants for the number of jobs. Great employer, great benefits.
he is ashamed that he was working at trader Joe’s. My dad taught me that work is never shameful. is he better then those he worked beside.... the shame he has I indicative of some one who looks down on those around them for doing real work .
I only saw one or two episodes of “The Cosby Show”, but he HAS to be a better actor than the guy who played Theo. He and Demond Wilson were two of the worst actors I had ever seen in a major role. Worst for child actor is between “Richie” on Dick Van Dyke, and the two youngest kids in “The Partridge Family” (with two different kids playing the drummer, and nobody noticing the changeover).
That is too bad. All legal work is worthy of pride in a job well done. Im sorry he was shamed and sorry he took it personally. He wasnt a better human being for being on tv. Didnt his boss prove that?
Job shaming by media outlets? Who would do such a thing?
He was working for a living to support his family. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that and nothing to be ashamed about.
I wouldn't blame him at all if he leveraged this unwanted spotlight into a better position. Should have kept the old job though but perhaps the attention had made it a circus.
