One of these days though - I may just fire that old stuff up. See if I can reclaim his call sign (or was it QC?) - W4WXS. I’ll need a telephone pole in my backyard for the antenna. I remember when he’d block TV signals for blocks when he was transmitting. After numerous complaints from the neighbors, he finally installed some kinda of dang filter on it. He was putting out some power. I still have some of his logs from the 50’s. Fun stuff.
I liked to listen to foreign stations - better than TV any day. My uncle taught me Morse code and I did pretty well in figuring out what was being said even though they were in some sort of code as well. The sets are still around and from time to time I turn one on to listen.

That is odd, never noticed a thing. of course, I don’t “do” any of those things. Do not even own a smartphone, which I gather is the vehicle of choice for all that “social” stuff, whatever it is.
