The battle of Gettysburg was the largest engagement of the Civil War, and--with more than 51,000 casualties--also the deadliest. The highest regimental casualty rate at Gettysburg, an estimated 85 percent, was incurred by the 26th North Carolina Infantry. Who were these North Carolinians? Why were they at Gettysburg? How did they come to suffer such a grievous distinction? In Covered with Glory, award-winning historian Rod Gragg reveals the extraordinary story of the 26th North Carolina in fascinating detail.

here's a few facts for you dumb ass: 1) The South seceded from the Union. 2) The South did so in order to preserve an economy based on the use of slave labor. 3) Confederate forces opened fire on Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, SC on April 12, 1861. 4) The South the war it started and Confederate forces under the command of General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General Grant at Appomattox Court House, VA. April 9, 1865. End of story.

I'm not taking credit for anything. I'll leave that to my ancestor who served with The Army Of The Potomac and my late family members who served in WW2 in the Pacific and the ETO. I asked you to refute any of the facts I posted and you didn't. You didn't because you can't. Thanks for conceding the argument.

Spelling mistakes are the best youve got?Hey, retard, you aren't making spelling mistakes.
You spell "you" and "you're" properly.
The fact that you don't realize what your mistake is makes you even more of a retard.

...in the modern vernacular...Yep, you're a liberal. Forcing a new "modern" meaning on a word instead of using the original meaning.
Like with the word "gay". Doesn't mean what it used to mean due to liberals.
So, retard, are you really from Jamaica? You haven't answered that question yet.

The South did so in order to preserve an economy based on the use of slave labor.Yeah, nothing like the economy based on voluntary servitude and forcing immigrants off the ship straight into a uniform like in the North. Slavery comes in many forms, even mental slavery.
Anyway, you do recognize some economic causes for the war.
Does Taxation enter your pea brain as a cause?
Do you even know what Fort Sumter was?
Do you recognize States' Rights or are all of the States/America just some big old Federal enclave with no rights at all?

The USA would have 39 states and the CSA 11. North America would have 4 countries instead of three. Not much difference in that regard.

End of story. Not for you, apparently.
You seem to want to fight an old war anew.
Is the new, economically revitalized South what has you so scared these days?

Since both NC and AL had operating sea ports through almost all of the war they had the best uniforms in the CSA. Best being relative. It was easy to tell them apart as they were the ones that didn’t look like tattered scarecrows.

You can't understand it because you can't understand what REAL state rights means and what a REAL republic means. Those concepts are lost on you. When it comes down to it you, and your ilk, will eventually knuckle under to federal tyranny. WE ALL KNOW IT even if you don't.
"Secession belongs to a different class of remedies. It is to be justified upon the basis that the States are Sovereign. There was a time when none denied it. I hope the time may come again, when a better comprehension of the theory of our Government, and the inalienable rights of the people of the States, will prevent any one from denying that each State is a Sovereign, and thus may reclaim the grants which it has made to any agent whomsoever."
President Davis

General you can go ‘round and ‘round all you want and it still comes out the same. The South seceded from the Union to preserve slavery, not only in the South but to extend it into the new territories in the West("Bleeding Kansas''). Confederates forces opened fire on a United States Army installation in Charleston Harbor, SC. That being Fort Sumter. That was the opening act of war. The South (of 1861) lost the war it started. You want to talk about keeping it alive? For crying out loud from your parents basements that's all you Lost Causers do night and day and you just can't handle the truth. Just out of curiosity General, what did your ancestors do in the war?
