Canadian ‘First Man’ actor defends omitting American flag planting on moon:
American Thinker ^

...just more of the same anti-American crap....

The late Neil Armstrong’s 1969 trip to the moon may have been “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” but it was also a massive achievement for the United States.

One of Armstrong’s first orders of business was to proudly plant the American flag, after all.

But Ryan Gosling, the Canadian actor who plays Armstrong in “First Man,” Hollywood’s rendition of the moon landing, told the Telegraph the magic moment was intentionally omitted from the big screen because Armstrong’s achievement “transcended countries and borders.”

One more film not to watch. Won’t get near it. I am extremely proud of what our country did at the same time that Teddy was killing Mary Jo. Keep it up Movie Industry!

I know a lady, 64 years old (but doesn’t look it) who has stars in her eyes wanted to be a movie star.

She’s in all the local plays, has done a couple of short, TV movies.

She spends her every waking moment chasing movie sets, producers, and other actors. Here in Georgia, there’s a lot of movie making now, and she runs herself broke trying to be in the “right place at the right time”. She just returned from a “casting call” in Knoxville, Tn.

My point is, it’s just an example of the lengths that people go to - young and old - to chase the movie star dream.

The IF they are ever lucky enough to get a part, and become a household name, they shoot themselves in the foot by making their wacky political views known to the world. Like this Gosling fellow - you don’t dis the American flag and expect a lot of patriots to attend your movie.

Even movies I used to like, and am now finding out how left and liberal the stars are, I can’t even watch them anymore.

Seems the producers, agents, and studios would offer them a little advice on running their mouths in public, as the bottom line affected is not only the actors’ bottom line, but all those who made it possible, including distributors and theatre chains.

Especially if the actor doing the dissing is a foreigner, a Canadian.

The last movie I saw in a theatre was “Top Gun”, back when it first came out, and only did that at the insistence of my son. Our birthdays are two days apart, and knowing I was in the Air Force and love airplanes, he wanted us to go and enjoy the movie together. So I did.

Sell fries at McDonalds;
Get and audition;
Get a part;
become well known;
run your mouth;
back at McDonalds.

I assume now every actor/actress slept with somebody to get the role.

You probably didn’t see the invisible “conspiracy nut” sign plastered across Truthinthoughtwordanddeed’s comment. Whatever you do, DON’T bring up 9/11.

“Even movies I used to like, and am now finding out how left and liberal the stars are, I can’t even watch them anymore.”

When they expose their leftist, sanctimonious fanaticism, I too can no longer detach who they are from the characters they play. I refuse to watch their movies, even the old ones too.

I was able to attend a 2+ hour theatre event where Al Pacino discussed his life in acting, the arts, etc. He was very interesting. They opened the floor up for some audience questions. Some wacko-leftist asked him a political question and posed it in such a way that there was only one correct (leftist) answer. Pacino responded by saying his personal politics are not relevant to his acting on stage or in the movies. He didn’t put the questioner down, but didn’t take the bait. He is from a different era when Americans got along, even when they disagreed with each other. He did not want to alienate anyone who might otherwise observe his art, his livlihood.

DeNiro could learn a lot from Pacino.

DeNiro can’t unfry the political egg.

Marlon Brando used Sacheen Littlefeather to express his political views when he won the Academy Award for the Godfather. Brando’s career was never the same; his personal life took over. His co-actor, a young Pacino may have taken note.

DeNiro’s movie Taxi came out a few years later. His political crack up happened years later when he was established like Brando. Besides watch his movies over time, like Nicholson, they evolved into playing themselves (not the character) in their films. Charlie Sheen - same thing in tv show 2 1/2 men. Yepp, can’t watch anymore.

I never get tired of watching Pacino in “Glengarry, Glen Ross”
