Facebook is at risk of losing 32% of its conservative users due to concerns the social media giant is censoring its content, a new national omnibus survey by McLaughlin & Associates reveals.
Sponsored by the Media Research Center (MRC), the national survey of conservatives who are likely voters, conducted August 22-27, 2018, shows that 89.5% of conservatives have used Facebook at some point and that less than half (47.7%) are both using it and committed to continuing to do so:
Of conservatives who have used Facebook, 32.3% say they have either left (7.5%), or are considering leaving (24.8%), Facebook due to its censorship of conservative views.
Whats more, nearly two-thirds (66.9%) of conservative likely voters have less trust in Facebook than they did a year ago. Likewise, nearly two-thirds (66.1%) do not trust Facebook to treat all political views equally and 64.6% believe sites like Facebook are intentionally censoring conservatives and conservative ideas.

I was a member of facebook, twitter, and used google often in searches. Now I use no facebook, left twitter, and have found multiple search engines that work without limiting conservative access. You are right. Every log in on FB sends them money. Every usage log in on the twit does so. And all searches on google do the same. If our voice is to be heard we must find alternatives for that. This is why I just joined here today and o yea. I do read Trumps tweets. but do not sign in. I want to hear the truth from him not a twisted news organization. TY for the post I enjoyed it a great deal.
I never said we owe Facebook. We owe it to the conservative cause to not give up another media outlet to the liberal fascists. And by liberal fascists, I am lumping Facebook into it.
I didn’t say that you said we owe FB anything. Those were my own words.
It would not be giving FB to the liberal fascists, since it was they who started it and already owned it; it would be their withering on the vine by pulling out our support.
Privacy Badger is showing FR to be totally clean. I remember seeing google analytics in the recent past.
Facebook already lost me. I closed my account about 8 months ago. I am not sorry.
The American market is the only one that matters
I've never partaked...and never will.
Thanks for the info..
Not when you’ve got nearly 2 billion registered users it ain’t.
I have 600 plus “friends” on FB. 98 percent pro trump. All walks of life. Every race creed nationality. We have spent 2 years sharing what the media won’t. These friends have hundreds of friends. IMHO. Walkaway started by many many of us sharing information.
Now they have reduced our reach. Trotted.
Throttled
Yes it is, they make the most off of the American market, they are in other markets so some scrappy upstart doesn’t dominate and move into their turf here.
If conservatives left facebook, it would be over with. It would be the next myspace, because others will follow.
no, it isn’t. They have nearly 7 times the ENTIRE US population. Losing a couple million Americans means nothing. Rounding error.
American advertisers are paying the bills though
I think you are confusing user base with advertisers.
Once the user base shrinks, conservatives are generally users with jobs and money, so does the advertising dollars.
Millions of people in Shiathole countries don’t matter, they are only present because Facebook doesn’t want a foreign competitor get large enough to challenge them in the United States. United States is their bread and butter.
This isn’t hard to figure out
MANY advertisers are paying the bills. All over the world. Not confusing anything with anything. Just doing the basic math. 68% of Americans are on FB, 30% self identify as conservative, now this survey was 32% of those might (MIGHT) leave FB. You’re talking 20 million people at MOST, probably drastically less. Meanwhile in Q2 of 2018 FB has been averaging 2.2 BILLION monthly active users, UP from before the “scandal” started. 20 million people just don’t rate in that situation.
It’s not shithole countries. There’s a whole lotta money outside these borders, plenty of rich countries, some of them with much larger populations than us, and therefore more people on FB.
You got one thing right. It isn’t hard to figure out. You’re wrong. The math shows it. Sorry you can’t understand that, but that’s on you.
You don’t understand, you have no idea what you are talking about here. Sure there are more people outside the United States, duh, we all know that. Facebook isn’t out there to collect data on a bunch of Brazilians, South Africans, etc, they don’t care those shiatholes. The only reason they play those markets is to keep out potential competitors.
1 mid income male is worth more to advertisers then three dozen penniless college kids.
Lets say you have 100 baseball cards, a collection worth more then $2500, 95 cards are common cards worth at most 5 cents each, but 5 of your cards are rare rookie cards worth $500 each. Take away those rare rookie cards and your collection even though it has 95 cards, only worth a few bucks as most.
This is the beginning of the end for Facebook, sure they are not going to shut down tomorrow, or even next year, but they will go the same way Myspace went, to irrelevancy.
No you’re the one that doesn’t know what you’re talking about. It is NOT shitholes. We’re talking Japan, Singapore, South Korea. Places with a HIGHER standard of living, HIGHER per capita income, and HIGHER level of tech in life. Plus of course Western Europe, Canada. 20 million US users just does NOT RATE. In the world of high tech, especially mobile tech (which FB is now), we are NOT the target market anymore. There’s a reason all the cellphone factories are in Asia, that’s the target market. We ain’t the rare rookie cards, we’re not quite nickels, but we’re getting closer.
This is not the beginning of the end. Not even close.
So America sucks to you? Maybe you are on the wrong website
Millions of people each year try to get into the United States, not any of those other shitholes you just listed.
I didn’t say America sucks. I’m pointing out some basic facts to you. Some of the finest cellphones in the world don’t get sold in America because our network is 3 generations behind and can’t actually talk to them. We one of the least connected of the industrialized world when it comes to mobile tech. And we are not the target market for mobile tech. And FB’s foothold in high tech Asia and Western Europe means we are NOT their most desirable subscribers.
If you think that means we suck, well that’s on you. I’m just pointing out that your insistence that every place else in the world is a shithole with undesirable subscribers is factually inaccurate.
