(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
Fast Times at Ridgemont High featured as many eventual Best Actor Oscar winners as either The Godfather or The Godfather II.
One of my all time favorite songs. Reminds me of my HS girlfriend. I think of her & the great times I had in HS every time I hear it.
Same, and I married her. I use this or Tom Petty's American Girl as her ringtone.
there are different soundtracks depending on what version you are watching.
I dated a girl back when i was 18 that looked and reminded me a LOT like JJL.
Like all the others at the time i slowly broke off with her because she interrupted my party time with my buddies.
looking back over the years that was probably one of my biggest mistakes...
Oh, yeah!!!
AS I recall Oingo Boingo’s song “Goodbye, Goodbye” is on this soundtrack. There’s also a really good song called “Raised on the Radio” by some band I’d never heard of before or since. I think they were called the “Rayvens”. And I’m pretty sure Petty’s “American Girl” was on there and there was a good Don Henley song but I can’t remember the name.
I always wondered what happened to her.
Last picture I saw of her she was getting arrested at the pipeline construction, and she was frightening...she looked like Medusa to me, some kind of evil harpy with sharp teeth.
Some people age well, some don’t. In her case I am not sure it was physical aging, it was her inner self seeping through that made her very unpleasant to behold.
Kevin Kline. He’s close to 20 years older than she is.
Just got it.
Took a sneak preview....yea, you are right.
I always thought it was darkly ironic that the song “Somebody’s Baby” was used in the film to reinforce and frame Jennifer Jason Leigh’s character who went on later in the film to have an abortion. I’ve always wondered if it was intentional or if I was just seeing things.
That song bring back memories of the summer of ‘82. Had just graduated from high school and other than working a part-time job and going away to college in the fall, I had not a care in the world.
I remember so much of the music from the summer. Most of it was great. However, they were seriously overkilled songs like “Jack and Diane” by John Cougar - which BTW, even 35 years later, I still turn off when I hear it on the radio. A much simpler time that if I had the chance, I’d go back for a day or two just to relive it.
The whole “Fast Times At Ridgemont High” soundtrack is pretty damned good too.

Oh, c’mon, Phoebe was (and in many ways still is) the ultimate!
.
The Don Henley song was “Love Rules”.
Another former Eagle (Don Felder) also did a song for the soundtrack. it was “Never Surrender”. It got some airplay back in ‘82 and then died off. Go to Youtube and you can listen to the song.
.
My kids wore out two video cassettes of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

For a woman pushing 60 whose made some unfortunate cosmetic surgery choices, she actually doesn’t look bad.
I’m not going to dump on Darryl Hannah, as obviously she’s had some significant mental health issues.
.
She has not aged well.
