This petition would destroy Free Republic

A.). Free Republic is a forum, not a platform. There's a significant difference between the two, including that platforms are afforded protections under the DMCA that other websites are not.

B.) Would the ability for liberals to post here really destroy Free Republic? Let them! They could bring their lefty talking points over here and see them crushed. Personally, I think it would be fun. That's activism! We might convert more people to our side than we'd lose. Echo chambers can get kinda boring.

I agree. They ‘might’ actually have to think and might learn something. Many liberals have been converted after having been exposed to critical thinking. That is why lib leaders try so hard to silence us.

I would argue that Twitter, Facebook, etc., are PUBLIC UTILITIES used by an overwhelming majority of citizens for mass communication, not all that unlike telecommunication companies and their phone services.

Twitter and Facebook are publicly traded companies, and I would think that only reinforces my view they are either subject to free speech regulations OR PUT THEIR CENSORSHIP PRACTICES UP TO A VOTE BY THEIR SHAREHOLDERS!!!

Twitter and Facebook's censorship practices are analogous to a phone company breaking into your line and terminating your connection BECAUSE THEY DON'T AGREE WITH WHAT YOU ARE SAYING!

I don't see how FR doesn't fall under (c):

"The four safe harbors [from DMCA] provided by Congress, in the following subsections of Section 512, {FN72: 17 U.S.C. §512} are:

"(a) Transitory digital network communications
(b) System caching
(c) Information residing on systems or networks at the direction of users
(d) Information location tools" - http://digital-law-online.info/lpdi1.0/treatise33.html

What are the other alleged "significant differences" you claim?
