They’re going to have him lie in state in Arizona and then Washington, so unless he/they found a patsy double to die for him, I don’t think he made it out alive.
You shook me back to reality a bit, I doubt we’re going around knocking people off like the traitors do. I’m thinking though, that they are giving certain people an opportunity to “do the honorable thing” and bite the cyanide. Think Hermann Goering at the Nuremburg trials (not that they allowed him to have it, it was in a false tooth).
There are some things that should not be survived. A military leader who commits a tactical blunder that gets all his men killed should probably drop on his sword too.
I’m thinking suicide weekend was 30 days ago and part of whatever agreement was made was it had to be announced EXACTLY 30 days later.

Re: lying in state. It doesn’t necessarily mean there will be an open casket. I went to Reagan’s lying-in-state and it was closed. Could have been empty for all I know. But we’ll see. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out.
p.s. Am I the only person who thinks there was something wrong with no name’s left cheek? For years it has looked like he had a tumor.
Think the end scene in Where Eagles Dare where the spy is outer and Richard Burtons character gives him an “honorable exit” and the guy steps out the doorway of the in flight aircraft.
Interesting side note to that comparison is that the actual airplane in that scene is the aircraft that crashed in the alps a couple weeks ago...
