Ohio State and Urban Meyer have both faced severe backlash after the announcement of his three-game suspension for the coach’s role in the ongoing controversy surrounding domestic violence claims against former Buckeye wide receivers coach Zach Smith. Although Meyer was found to never have covered up Smith’s behavior, the university found in an investigation that both Meyer and Athletic Director Gene Smith could have done much more in their leadership roles.

While many analysts have offered strong condemnations of Meyer and Ohio State, perhaps the strongest came from ESPN’s Michelle Beadle. She said that she was so fed up with the NCAA and NFL’s response to controversies like these that she was boycotting both this year.

Thanks for the insight. It had to be either incredibly manipulative or incredibly stupid (or both) on Mrs. Smith's part to confide in Meyer's wife. I wish OSU had the guts after the investigation to say there was no evidence of physical harm to Mrs. Smith, so Mrs. Meyer acted appropriately in telling Mrs. Smith she had to go to the police and report the assault. What did she want? Mrs. Meyer to report it for her? Tell Meyer so the whole world could be involved in the soap opera?

Why would anyone watch soap operas or read low-end romantic novels anymore? This is a perfect example of you can't make this stuff up.

Beadle has been switched to leave Get Up and do NBA show.

She will be replaced by a rotating cast of...more women...and the show will be cut by an hour.

And Jamelle Hill has had her contract bought out and is leaving MSESPN.
