So it's not okay to secure the border, but it's okay to secure businesses and individual homes. What hypocrites.

Don’t Fence Me In
Bing Crosby

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above
Don’t fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
Don’t fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evenin’ breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
Don’t fence me in

Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise
I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can’t look at hovels and I can’t stand fences
Don’t fence me in

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies
Don’t fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
Don’t fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evenin’ breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
Don’t fence me in

Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
Underneath the western skies
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise

Ba boo ba ba boo
I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can’t look at hobbles and I can’t stand fences
Don’t fence me in
No
Poppa, don’t you fence me in

When I read articles like this, I wonder “Where are these people coming from?”

Yeah, I get it. California is an expensive place to live. Maybe some can’t afford the rents. Are some what we’d classify as the “working poor”? Are many mentally unstable or chemically dependent individuals who can’t work? Are a lot of them just plain old deadbeats who don’t wanna work or conform to the norms of a regular society? Are many of them illegals?

Part of my Catholic upbringing (and trust me when I say this - I’m no liberal) was to care for the poor because but for the grace of God, there go I. I’m not entirely convinced that govt intervention could do a lot for many of these people. Maybe it’d help a few get up out of poverty. But I suspect many would take advantage of the intervention as a way to freeload.

Is there gonna be a permanent underclass in overall society that no amount of government spending can help?

Homelessness is increasing across the country fueled by illegal immigration and the opioid epidemic.

True, that.

If they don’t like the fences, they can get off their lazy butts, get a job, and work to support themselves.

Then they can afford somewhere to live and won’t need to whine about people not wanting them littering their sidewalks and harassing their customers.

Apparently written by a scholar of Tearjerker Journalism 101.

Doesn't matter how kind his eyes are or how disarming his demeanor is if he is blocking the flow of commerce. That still makes him part of the problem, regardless of what the tearjerker Guardian writer wrote.

So it is not OK for business owners to protect a portion of the sidewalk from the vagrants because it belongs to everyone. But it is OK for the vagrants to block the sidewalk with their lice and MRSA infected trash piles.

The Los Angeles County & City officials have admitted that they have over 50,000 homeless. I figure it is twice what they will admit to.

This number of 25,000 is PURE FICTION.

LA deserves this misery - they and their Hollywood lowlifes - glamorized ‘homelessness’ and pushed this BS on the rest of the country.

Southern California and San Francisco can sink into the human poop covering their streets and business areas and the rest of us would laugh.
