MELANIA TRUMP, 48, is the third wife of Donald Trump, 72, but what happened when they first met? The First Lady recalled a technique she used to keep the now President of the USA interested in her.
Melania Trump has been married to Donald Trump for 13 years, but how did it all begin between them?
The stunning former model is said to have met Donald in 1998 at a party in Times Square nightclub the Kit Kat Club.
Donald attended the party on a date with Celina Midelfart, a Norwegian businesswoman.
However, he soon asked for Melania’s number when his date visited the bathroom.
Melania played hard to get in order to keep Donald, who had recently separated from second wife Marla Marples, interested.
"If I give him my number, I'm just one of the women he calls,” said Melania in an interview with Time magazine.
"I wanted to see what his intention is. It tells you a lot from the man what kind of number he gives you. He gave me all of his numbers."
She then left a week until she called Donald. The pair began dating immediately after.
She also told Time that she was not “starstruck” by Donald, who was already a famous entrepreneur by that point.
”I’m not starstruck. We had a great connection, we had great chemistry, but I was not starstruck. And maybe he noticed that,” she told the publication.
The pair dated for seven years, frequenting a nightclub in Greenwich Village, New York, known as Moomba.
They became engaged in 2004, and married in a ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida in 2005.
The following year Melania gave birth to their pair’s only son together, Barron Trump, who is Donald’s fifth child.
Yesterday, it was revealed Melania is going on her first tour abroad without her husband Donald.
The 48-year old former model is planning to visit a host of countries in Africa, hoping to educate herself and address many issues facing children on the continent.
In a statement published in the Associated Press, it was revealed Melania would be embarking on the trip this October.
Melania said: "This will be my first time travelling to Africa and I am excited to educate myself on the issues facing children throughout the continent, while also learning about its rich culture and history."
While the exact countries Melania will visit on her trip have not been confirmed, her spokesperson Stephanie Grisham said the White House “will release details in the coming weeks”.
One thing that is confirmed is that Melania will be making this trip alone, without her husband of 13 years.
Melania’s plans were announced on the same day that she spoke out against cyberbullying at the Cyberbullying Prevention Summit in Maryland.

Both Laura Bush and Hillary went on FLOTUS trips alone to visit women and children. But the press likes to sound like it’s trouble in the marriage.
And not only does she have that name, to be forever known as the date of the evening when Trump hit on Melania. Of course being a player, it’s something he had probably done a lot, but the other throwaways didn’t have the misfortune of coming with him when future FLOTUS was at the party.
