Cohen: Trump told me to pay off women to influence the election
President Trumps personal fixer Michael Cohen admitted in court Tuesday that he paid two women hush money at direction of the candidate, a clear reference to Trump to influence the 2016 presidential election.
Trumps name was not uttered but the implication was clear as Cohen admitted he cut a $150,000 check in 2016 to protect the candidate.
On or about summer 2016, in coordination and with and at the behest of the candidate, I and the CEO of a media company worked together to keep an individual with information that would be harmful to the candidate from publicly disclosing this information
under which she received compensation of $150,000, Cohen said in Manhattan federal court.

It would only matter if the cash came from campaign funds, which FEC had already looked into and has said that the campaign has not violated any campaign finance laws. SO a big fat nothing burger with extra liberal tears.
You don’t have to be a lawyer to see that Mueller has missed his mark again. Cohen’s dealings have NOT entangled President Trump!
No Cohen pleaded guilty to actual crimes that had nothing to do with Trump and tossed that into his plea.
The writers of the headline had to figure a way to put in ‘influence the election’
“Paying women is not influencing an election.”
Paying Fusion GPSW to pay some Russians for the dossier is influencing an election. Is that not a violation of campaign laws?
Believe what you want, but look at Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, Rule 35(b), also see 18 U.S.C. § 3553(e), "Limited Authority To Impose a Sentence Below a Statutory Minimum. Upon motion of the Government, the court shall have the authority to impose a sentence below a level established by statute as a minimum sentence so as to reflect a defendants substantial assistance in the investigation or prosecution of another person who has committed an offense. Such sentence shall be imposed in accordance with the guidelines and policy statements issued by the Sentencing Commission pursuant to section 994 of title 28, United States Code."
These motions by the U.S. Attorney are called are called 5K motions after the section of the Federal Sentencing guidelines related to mitigating circumstances. In practice, however, the government's recommendation for a point reduction based on cooperation is presented at the same time as the pre-sentence report. I've sat through countless sentencings in federal Court, quite a few in Judge Ellis's court, by the way. The points system for sentencing is sometimes so convoluted that the judge, the U.S. Attorney, and defense counsel get lost in how to work it out.
Gee no politician in the world I guess has ever settled a lawsuit in this manner.
“Cohen: Pakistani Lanny told me to say Trump told me to pay off women to influence the election”
Who is Lanny working for? The Clintons and the dimoKKKRAT party? How in the hell did Lanny Davis become Cohen’s lawyer?
They are playing to the low level voter. That is all.
If I was Trump, I would pardon Cohen immediately after sentencing for the alleged campaign violations and not his tax and bank fraud problems.
Cohen is contradicting his own earlier statement that Trump knew nothing about this payment. So was Cohen lying then or lyinging now? Or is he just a liar?
Collaboration via silence.
But, yes....agree.
I’ll go with Just a LIAR!
Payments did not happen or they would have been reported on their income tax returns.
Everything that candidates spend money on during a campaign is meant to influence the election.
“Mueller’s goal is to depose Trump however he can do it, and this is how he will.”
Well no. Mueller will want to and the DNC Media will want to but President Trump’s lawyers will say, no thanks. Go ahead and fine Mr. Cohen for his civil violation.
It’s not even criminal. It may not even be a civil penalty.
One was summer of ‘16. The other fall of ‘16. Both clearly well after he declared.
“It would only matter if the cash came from campaign funds, which FEC had already looked into and has said that the campaign has not violated any campaign finance laws. SO a big fat nothing burger with extra liberal tears.”
There it is again. That law thing resurfacing. The Rats fail again. Oh, how they will cry and declare doom is near.
Same crap, different day.
‘Manhattan Federal Judge Kimba Wood’
The Clinton SCOTUS appointee - Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!
